As America approaches its 250th, we have a choice to make — will we be real patriots and fight to ensure that ALL our collective stories, from slavery, to the internment of the Japanese during WWII, to the illegal overthrow of the Hawaiian kingdom, will remain a part of our country's history?

I am holding a town hall in Wahiawā next Thursday to discuss policies affecting Hawaiʻi, address concerns about the Trump administration, and answer questions from community members.
RSVP at bit.ly/wahiawatownhall26. I look forward to seeing you there!
I’m taking your voices with me and will keep showing up. Hope to see you at the next one!
Mahalo everyone who joined Saturday’s Town Hall & Ag listening session on Kauaʻi. I’m grateful for the chance to talk story & hear your manaʻo—on small business & FEMA funding, ICE concerns, accountability in Washington, protecting our keiki on social media & the rising costs impacting our farmers.
Mahalo to everyone who showed up, and will continue to show up, until an agreement is reached.
Glad to express my strong support of UNAC/UHCP healthcare workers and stand shoulder to shoulder with those who provide lifesaving care to the members of our community.
After months of negotiations, it's time to respect the hands that care for us and give them the dignity and aloha they deserve.
The Trump administration is ordering the National Park Service to remove signs that tell the truth about slavery, the genocide of Indigenous peoples & the incarceration of Japanese Americans.
History is a warning. The question isn’t whether it will repeat itself—it’s whether we'll let it.
On a hilltop in Santa Fe, a single stone marker tells the story of my jiji who was incarcerated as a so-called “enemy alien,” while his son served this country in uniform.
Today, that truth is being erased. This is whitewashing history.
Congrats to Michael, Talei, Reese, and Chelsey for representing Hawaiʻi so well in a nationwide competition with nearly 14,000 student entries. A big mahalo to the educators who supported and guided them along the way!
Surprised this year’s Congressional App Challenge winners and celebrated their incredible work. Students from Le Jardin Academy, Mid-Pacific Institute and King Kekaulike High School designed very impressive apps with real-world impact & thoughtful design.
The Big Ugly Bill gave ICE seven times its annual funding while cutting Medicaid and food assistance. We cannot keep giving ICE more funding while Americans struggle to survive and face violence in their communities. Accountability is non-negotiable.
I stood outside of ICE headquarters with my CAPAC, DWC, and CPC colleagues in solidarity with the victims of ICE’s violence, due process violations, and lack of accountability. This is a failure of leadership. We are demanding the immediate removal of Kristi Noem.
It was an emotional day, and it reinforced my commitment to ensuring the humane treatment of all detainees.
On my 3rd visit to the Federal Detention Center in Honolulu, I spoke with correctional staff and personnel before spending several hours with nearly two dozen detainees to hear directly about their experiences and needs, including access to attorneys and interpreters or simply having someone listen.
I am holding a town hall in Līhuʻe on Saturday to discuss policies affecting Hawaiʻi, address concerns about the Trump administration, and answer questions from community members.
RSVP at bit.ly/lihuetownhall. I look forward to seeing you there!
Mahalo to all of our ʻohana across Hawaiʻi island who attended & asked questions, as well as Parker School for hosting us. I look forward to seeing you all at the next one!
So grateful to everyone who joined us in Waimea on Saturday for my first town hall of the year. We discussed important topics like the affordability crisis, protecting free and fair elections, the military's footprint in Hawaiʻi, and how Democrats plan to address these issues.
Had a great conversation with KAOI Maui. We covered a range of issues that matter to our communities—supporting our agricultural economy, ongoing recovery efforts in Lahaina & recent developments around federal immigration enforcement in Minnesota. Listen at youtube.com/repjilltokuda.
Mahalo to the North Shore Chamber of Commerce for hosting & for your decades of advocacy and service to the North Shore.
We covered keeping Dillingham Airfield open with a 50-year lease, advancing flood mitigation for Kaiaka–Waialua, and how federal decisions on infrastructure, healthcare & business costs affect our community.
