We should decriminalize sex work to maximize their legal protection and their ability to exercise other key rights, including unionization, justice and health care. Decriminalization & regulation would prevent trafficking and exploitation of minors.
It also helps them report crimes against them.
From all of us at #TeamShri, wishing you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and an amazing holiday season!
May your holidays be filled with love, light, and laughter.
My priority is protecting Michiganders.
With the Trump Administration incoming, know that I will always put you and your families first.
We will fight back against MAGA extremism.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: the public deserves to see the Matt Gaetz House Ethics Committee report. www.cbsnews.com/news/matt-ga...
Democrats kept the government and did not bow down to President Elon Musk and Vice President Donald Trump in the process.
We will always protect Americans from extremism.
Despite Elon Musk and Donald Trump's obstruction, Democrats kept the government open, passed disaster relief aid, and made sure our federal workers would not be furloughed during the holiday season.
We will always deliver for Americans.
Democrats will not bow down to President Musk and his puppet Vice President.
I will not be bullied by President Elon Musk and Vice President Donald Trump.
I will vote NO on the new budget bill.
As members of Congress, we owe it to the American people to keep the government open, especially during the holiday season.
It’s time my Republican colleagues stop playing games.
I’m glad to see the Committee vote to release the Gaetz report to the public.
It’s critical that Americans see the result of their investigation.
We have yet another mass shooting in our nation. My heart breaks for the victims and those impacted.
This epidemic of gun violence has taken far too many lives too soon. Thoughts and prayers are not enough. We need action.
The individuals who stormed our Capitol Building on January 6, 2021 violated the law and were justifiable prosecuted.
They should not receive pardons for trying to tear down our democracy.
The Secretary of Health and Human Services should not be associated with anyone who questions the efficacy of the polio vaccine.
It's that simple. www.nytimes.com/2024/12/13/h...
Donald Trump's economic policies will raise costs on everyday Americans.
He knows it. Economists know it. The public knows it.
That's why Trump cannot tell you he will actually lower grocery prices in America.
Donald Trump has now admitted that he cannot guarantee that his policies will lower grocery prices.
He said the complete opposite on the campaign trail.
Yet another lie from Trump. House Democrats, meanwhile, will continue to work to lower your costs.
Democrats in the House will be a backstop against the radical MAGA agenda.
We won’t give in.
We will fight back and protect our people.
If a person is born in America, then they are an American citizen.
Efforts to ban or circumvent birthright citizenship are wrong and unconstitutional.
As a Congressman, I’ll fight back against any attempt to roll back birthright citizenship.
Birthright citizenship is a right every American enjoys. Donald Trump's threats to this fundamental concept, enshrined in the 14th Amendment, is antithetical to the rule of law. I will fight tooth and nail to prevent him from deporting American citizens.
Healthcare is a right, not a privilege.
No person should have to choose between access to care and putting food on the table.
I voted to release the Matt Gaetz ethics report because I believed the public deserved to see it.
Whether or not Gaetz is in Congress, the report should be made public.
