Virginia is home to tens of thousands of federal employees, contractors, and service members whose dedication keeps our country strong.   I’m proud to be a founding member of the Congressional Federal Workforce Caucus, working to protect these public servants and uphold a merit-based civil service.
I secured $1 MILLION for the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office to purchase 345 new mobile radios to support faster, clearer communication for deputies in the field.    This critical investment will ensure our local law enforcement has the tools they need to respond quickly.
Happy 118th Birthday to our U.S. Army Reserves!  As a 25-year Army veteran, I have deep respect for the citizen-soldiers who answer the call to serve. Their commitment, resilience, and sacrifice strengthen our nation every day.  I’m grateful for all who have worn the uniform and continue to serve.
This just in: Donald Trump’s approval rating has reached a new low.   As billions are spent on another costly foreign conflict while costs rise here at home, working Americans are feeling the strain.    Enough is enough. Congress must rein in this chaos and refocus on lowering costs.
At 18 years old, Avery Wise is already serving his community as an EMT with the Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton Volunteer Fire Department.  I was grateful to thank him for his service and enter his accomplishments into the Congressional Record.  Wishing him continued success!
I’m saddened by the passing of my colleague, Congressman David Scott. He was a tireless champion for the people of Georgia and a dedicated leader on the U.S. House Agriculture Committee. I was proud to work alongside him. My thoughts are with his family, staff, and loved ones.
I was honored to recognize my ‘Constituent of the Week’, Pranav Vedula, on the U.S. House floor for winning the Seventh Congressional District’s App Challenge.      Congratulations on a job well done, Pranav! Your future is bright.
April 22 is Earth Day — a reminder that protecting our planet and lowering costs for Virginia families should go hand in hand.  Energy bills are up 13% under this administration, putting real strain on household budgets. Virginia families shouldn’t have to sacrifice one basic need for another.
Using sensitive or classified information to bet on military actions threatens our national security and puts our service members at risk.   That's why I sent a letter to Polymarket demanding the company preserve and disclose all records of these bets.
Alejandra from my team joined the Muslim Association of Virginia for a groundbreaking and ribbon-cutting celebrating the expansion of the Dar Al Noor Islamic Community Center in Manassas.  This expansion will expand space for worship and youth programming, supporting families across the community.
Today marks 27 years since 12 students and one teacher were killed at Columbine High School in Colorado.  Congress must work together to pass meaningful gun safety legislation to protect students and prevent these tragedies.  My heart is with the victims, the survivors, and their families today.
Profiting off sensitive national security information is dangerous and unacceptable — but traders are making millions doing exactly that.  I’m calling on Polymarket CEO Shayne Caplan to hand over records of these bets to Congress.  We need answers.
I'm committed to equipping Virginia's first responders with the resources they need to protect and serve our communities.   That's why I was proud to secure $500,000 in federal funding for the Madison County Sheriff’s Office to build a mobile command center.
It was great to hear from students who are leading the charge on climate action at the Student Climate Action Summit at the University of Mary Washington last month.  In Congress, I’m focused on advancing real solutions to protect our environment and build more sustainable communities.
Yesterday, I once again voted in favor of a War Powers Resolution to stop President Trump’s war of choice against Iran.  To this day, the administration has not provided a clear or credible justification for entering this conflict. Congress — and the American people — deserve answers.
It's Black Maternal Health Week.    The United States has the highest maternal mortality rate of any high-income country — and Black women are disproportionately impacted.    Congress has a responsibility to change that. I’m proud to support the Momnibus to improve outcomes and save lives.
