Last Wednesday, I toured Fredericksburg's Chatham Manor. Built in the 1770s, it played significant roles during the Civil War. Today, it’s part of the National Park Service and is open to visitors as part of the Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park.
Inflation is outpacing wages for the first time in three years.    Gas prices have climbed above $4 a gallon.    Monthly utility bills continue to rise.   This conflict is far from over — and hardworking Virginians are paying the price.
Diesel powers the trucks that move food and goods across the country — and rising diesel prices are driving up costs for Virginia families.     That’s why I’m leading legislation with Rep. Don Davis to pause the diesel tax and backing two bills to pause the gas tax to provide immediate relief.
It was an honor to visit the Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton Volunteer Fire Department to present Avery Wise with an entry into the Congressional Record.    At only 18 years old, Avery is already serving as an EMT and is working towards becoming a crew lead. Thank you for your service, Avery!
For 10 weeks, Americans have been footing the bill for a war they never wanted.  ⛽ Gas prices are up 28%    🛒 Inflation is outpacing wages    🍅 Grocery prices are soaring  There is no end in sight — and hardworking families are paying the price.
Congratulations Dr. Stephen Farnsworth on his retirement from the University of Mary Washington!     For more than 25 years, Dr. Farnsworth has served as a Professor of Political Science at the University of Mary Washington. I wish him well in his retirement!
This is yet another conflict Trump has pulled us into without Congressional approval.  Congress has a constitutional responsibility to authorize the use of military force. Bypassing that process weakens accountability and democratic oversight.  The American people deserve transparency.
The Prince William County Animal Services Center is full of adorable puppies and kittens looking for their forever homes! 🐶🐱   If you’ve been thinking about adding a furry friend to your family, now’s the perfect time to stop by and give a shelter pet the second chance they deserve.
Secretary Hegseth made it clear that he’s more concerned with media optics than the deaths of six U.S. service members.  It’s disgusting.   Our troops deserve leadership that puts their lives and service first.
Town of Culpeper residents will see a significant jump in their utility bills because of higher fuel costs driven by Trump’s war in Iran. As a member of the Congressional Lowering Utility Bills Caucus, I’m focused on bringing down the cost of your electric bill rather than fueling a war abroad.
The last thing our veterans and service members should have to worry about is whether they can afford the medication they depend on. That’s why I’m leading a commonsense effort alongside Rep. Ryan to lower the crushing cost of prescription drugs for those who have served our country.
This Mental Health Awareness Month highlights the need for mental health care that is affordable and within reach.    I’m leading multiple bills focused on studying and strengthening support for veterans and youth mental health. In Congress, I will continue pushing for more resources for Virginians.
🚨 I'm leading a bill with Rep. Pat Ryan to lower prescription drug costs for service members, military families, and veterans. This commonsense bill would reduce the crushing cost of prescription drugs for those who have served while saving taxpayers BILLIONS.
