Just had a powerful and inspiring meeting with local pastors to discuss how we engage our young people and fight these heartless healthcare & nutrition cuts in the just-passed Big Ugly Bill. Together, we’ll empower and defend our community and democracy.
It was great to join the 70 year celebration at the annual Miramar Day! Thanks to Mayor Messam, the city commissioners and everyone who made this special Miramar Day event so special.
Cong. Charles B. Rangel, the ‘Lion of Lenox Avenue’ has passed. I was honored to serve with & be mentored by him. He ushered in such progress, like helping found the Cong. Black Caucus and passing the Affordable Care Act. I mourn the loss of this giant. May his memory be for a blessing.
Every generation fought to preserve our freedom and ideals, and each one lost servicewomen and men in that effort.
Today, on Memorial Day, we honor them by vowing to never forget that, only because of their sacrifice, does our democracy live on. Thank you.
Florida Republicans just passed a law to ban fluoride in water. What do you do now?

Trump and RFK Jr. are rolling back cancer research that’s helped millions survive – including me.
No one asked for this. But if they succeed, more people will needlessly suffer or die.
Cancer research saves lives.
If Republicans in Congress make Trump’s cancer research cuts permanent, patients will pay the price.
I created my Make Her Mark Award to celebrate young local women leaders in high school.
This year’s winner, Domenica Jaramillo, does amazing work in the classroom, with the Cypress Bay Interact Club, and in so many other areas of life!
We need to take real action to protect Jewish Americans from harm—boost synagogue security, protect civil rights, and prosecute hate crimes.
We can’t settle for Trump weaponizing antisemitism to crack down on academic freedom.
TPS holders are here legally, working and paying taxes.
The only criminals involved here are Trump, who illegally ripped their status away, and the murderous regime Venezuelans will be subjected to.

Sarah and Yaron were murdered after attending an event for young professionals focused on humanitarian aid and peace.
It could have been my staff, or my kids. Nobody is safe when antisemitic hate is normalized.
Today I joined Jewish Democrats to pay respects to Sarah and Yaron, who were murdered in an antisemitic hate crime at the Capital Jewish Museum last night.
There is no cause, no conflict, no grievance that can justify murdering innocent people in the street. This cannot be the new normal.
The ugly Republican bill passed, but the fight isn't over.
I'll keep demanding the lower costs American families need — no matter how many sleepless nights it takes.
House Republicans just voted for the deepest cuts to health care and nutrition assistance ever, all to further enrich the super wealthy.
I’m proud Democrats fought this One Big Ugly Bill. We’ll keep demanding the lower costs families need.
House Republicans' Big Ugly Bill would make the deepest health care and food assistance cuts we've ever seen.
All to give tax breaks to billionaires and huge corporations.
Antisemitic violence and hatred have no place in America and we must do all we can to fight it and keep our Jewish communities safe.
Horrified by the deadly shooting outside the Capital Jewish Museum in DC this evening where the American Jewish Committee held an event with young staffers and diplomats. As we wait for more information, my thoughts are with the victims and their families.
Wonderful to celebrate the Florida Gator Basketball Champions in DC!
I thanked Clayton and our never-say-die Gator Boys for inspiring #GatorNation and urged Condon to stay at UF to run it back in '26. #GoGators 🐊🏆
The Army Corps of Engineers plays a crucial role for America’s water resources, but Trump is playing political games and putting critical safety projects across the country at risk.
