When you go to work, you should receive a livable wage. You should have health care and workplace protections. You should be able to join a union without fear of retaliation. These are the common sense demands of the labor movement. It is essential. Happy Labor Day!
Trump knows Republicans are on track to lose in 2026 and in 2028 so he's doing everything he can to steal the elections. He knows he's deeply unpopular, his actions are hurting millions of Americans (including those who voted for him), and that he can't win without suppressing the vote.
Translation: "If you don't suppress people from voting, my party will lose." Mail in voting is critical for working people, rural voters, and marginalized communities to be able to cast a ballot. We cannot sit by and watch Trump try to take their right to vote away.
Young people are losing hope for the future. Prices are high and going up. Buying a home is out of reach. College is expensive and there's no student debt relief. Climate change is destroying the planet. Rights and freedoms are being stripped away. This is not sustainable.
I'm a mother and a teacher and I'm so sick to my stomach. Our kids are being shot in church pews. This is not normal. But we've let it become the norm. America, when will we admit we have a deep sickness when it comes to gun violence.
Companies are using algorithms to jack up your rent. We have to end this practice and make housing affordable for working people. This is good news. Let’s keep it up.
Greystar was using rent-setting algorithms from software company RealPage, the subject of a 2022 ProPublica investigation that showed the firm was helping landlords decide prices in a way that legal experts said could result in cartel-like behavior. By @heathervogell.bsky.social
Trump announced he's leading a "movement" to get rid of mail-in ballots and voting machines. He's setting up to steal the 2026 midterms and probably the 2028 presidential. Either through dismantling our voting system or rigging the maps. Why? His cruel and reckless actions are deeply unpopular.
Hey, Glens Falls, New York! We heard Elise Stefanik hasn't been showing up for you or hearing your concerns with Trump's disastrous presidency. But @pressley.house.gov, @reppaultonko.bsky.social, and I believe your voice matters. We're coming to you on August 22. Join us:
This new legislation would establish a clear line: In the US, we do not exile people for exercising their constitutional rights. We thank @ross.house.gov and @balint.house.gov for introducing this bill and standing firm in safeguarding our right to free speech, dissent, and political expression.
The Trump admin keeps violating the free speech rights of immigrants in this country. This can't go unchecked. @balint.house.gov and I introduced our Land of the Free Act to prevent Trump from deporting individuals whose speech he finds inconvenient. www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-...
The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952 was once a rarely used provision. But now Marco Rubio uses it daily. It was his basis for going after Mahmoud Khalil, Rümeysa Öztürk, and others to suppress political speech. So @ross.house.gov and I want to repeal it.
Rather than fearmonger about crime in DC (crime rates have fallen sharply in the city), Trump should pressure Speaker Johnson to release the $1 billion in taxpayer money that Congress blocked. This is a complete authoritarian power grab of the capital city.
The Republican playbook is simply lie, gaslight, repeat. No amount of lying will change the reality that, because of their votes, hospitals will close and people are going to die without care.
Scarborough loses patience with Mike Lawler after Lawler lies that Republicans didn't actually cut Medicaid: "Congressman, you can keep talking if you want to, but are you saying you know doctors' business, you know hospital administrators' business better than they know their own business?"
