If you defund Planned Parenthood, you're defunding breast exams, pregnancy testing, prenatal and postpartum care, STD testing, birth control, sex education, vaccines, mental health care, I could go on and on. It's not about abortion, it's about cutting resources for women.
Republicans can’t even defend their cruel & partisan cuts to SNAP. They’ve had nothing to say during the first 3 hrs of this markup. While pushing work requirements for vulnerable Americans- most R’s have left Cmte and gone to bed for the night while Dems are still here fighting to feed people.
It is indisputable at this point that death is imminent for hundreds of thousands in Gaza. Trump is allowing the Netanyahu government to continue to wage an unrestrained assault while starving an entire population. This is an unrelenting moral failure and the US cannot remain complicit.
As Israel’s government has publicly dismissed warnings of extreme food shortages in Gaza after it blocked aid deliveries, some Israeli military officials have privately warned that the territory faces widespread starvation if aid is not restored quickly. trib.al/2VovLbU
Trump's right hand man Stephen Miller said they are planning to suspend habeas corpus — meaning they can snatch anyone off the street without a reason or trial. This country was founded on the basic principle that people cannot be detained without due process. This is a major warning signal.
A grant in Vermont that helped train 50+ women and nonbinary people each year in construction and renewable energy was cut by DOGE, alongside two dozen others across the country. And Trump expects us to believe he's going to grow the workforce and create jobs? Give me a break.
Under Trump, ICE has become a means to carry out political arrests and silence those who disagree with his authoritarian agenda — now including members of Congress and mayors standing up for their constituents and conducting oversight. You will not intimidate us into silence.
DHS confirms to @axios.com that they are considering arresting Reps. Bonnie Watson Coleman, LaMonica McIver and Rob Menendez. Watson Coleman's office says they reviewed the body cam footage and that it proves "nobody 'assaulted' any agents." More here: www.axios.com/2025/05/10/t...
We all know the President is responsible for upholding the Constitution. My Republican colleagues, what has happened to you? We sat together at Trump’s inauguration and watched him take the oath of office to uphold the Constitution. I'm pleading with you. It’s time to speak up.
Trump's own team is stockpiling supplies before his tariffs make prices skyrocket and shelves are left empty. Yet he’s gaslighting Americans by saying prices won't go up. And worse, he tells us we need to sacrifice our bank accounts so the super rich can get even richer. Infuriating.
Thousands of openly-trans members of the military were just given a huge middle finger by the Supreme Court's conservative majority, who are allowing a cruel and unnecessary ban to go into effect while a challenge works through the courts, despite overwhelming evidence the ban itself is ridiculous.
Federal workers are public servants in our communities all over the country. Elon, Trump, and DOGE have been shamelessly cutting their jobs and benefits and attacking their right to organize. I stand with federal workers and the work they do to serve the American public.
🚨House Democrats just filed a discharge petition to force a vote on protecting Medicaid and SNAP. Republicans deny that they want to cut funding for these, so it’s time for them to put their money where their mouth is.
