Last weekend, I hosted my annual event to honor participants in this year's Congressional Art Competition. I'm always amazed by the artistic talents among the 6th District's high school students. Congratulations to our 1st place winner, Zoe, whose art will be displayed in the US Capitol this year.

Freedom delayed is freedom denied. Juneteenth reminds us to celebrate progress but
also to confront the truths about our nation’s history and the work that remains to be done.

Guns are the leading cause of death in America for children ages 1 through 17.
As the newly released study shows, gun violence prevention laws save lives.

Today is National Gun Violence Awareness Day. I #WearOrange to honor the countless lives that are taken by gun violence each year.
I am committed to passing common-sense solutions to put an end to the gun violence epidemic in America.
Today is World Environment Day. Last month, I joined the Chicago River Day Cleanup in Crestwood. This annual cleanup improves water quality and outdoor spaces in our district.
Earlier this week, I hosted a town hall at Saint Xavier University in Chicago. I answered questions about what’s happening in Washington and heard how President Trump’s actions are impacting constituents.
Happy Pride Month! LGBTQ+ rights are human rights, and I will always fight back against attacks on the LGBTQ+ community.
