Another sure sign that the fix is in. Ghislaine Maxwell's attorney, David Oscar Markus on X: "We are grateful to President Trump for his commitment to uncovering the truth in this case." And says they're already in discussions with the administration.
CNN: Would you ever use subpoena power to try to find out more info about Epstein? JASON SMITH: That's not a common thing I've utilized within the Ways and Means Committee CNN: But you did use subpoena power with Hunter Biden JASON SMITH: That was the only time I used it
If you need help with a federal agency, this summer Congress comes to you – starting Monday in Roxborough, then Cobbs Creek & South Philly the following week, among 8 total locations! Team Evans is bringing constituent services to communities across #PA03. Check out a pop-up near you below 👇🏾
Philadelphia Youth Basketball is more than just basketball— it provides life-changing opportunities for kids across Philly. I proudly secured $1 million in federal funding for the Alan Horwitz ‘Sixth Man’ Center. Today, I caught up with Kenny Holdsman about how they continue to serve our community.
We could be working to keep the government open past Oct. 1 or extend expiring ACA credits - as more than 150,000 Pennsylvanians are at risk of losing their Pennie coverage - but House Republicans are so scared of releasing the Epstein files, they would rather just go home.
Tweet from Nicholas Wu with a picture of a House Floor Update with the text "Thursday House votes canceled. They're leaving for August recess after last votes tomorrow afternoon"
After Hahnemann Hospital closed, we saw the devastating ripple effects through Philly. As Trump's new #ReverseRobinHood budget law slashes Medicaid funding, hospitals in Philly- and across PA - will lose millions and be at risk of closure - costing our communities jobs & health care services.

Trump’s closure of 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline’s LGBTQ+ service is unconscionable and shameful. If you or someone you know needs support, you can still access resources through the Trevor Project, Trans Lifeline, & LGBT National Hotline ⬇️
Last night, while most of America was sleeping, the House GOP slashed funding for PBS, NPR, and local tv & radio stations, and life-saving global health programs and peacekeeping efforts, rubberstamping DOGE’s illegal cuts. (2/3)
On the 5th anniversary of the passing of John Lewis, my friend, colleague, and personal hero, I’m reminded of some of his final words- “When you see something that is not right, you must say something. You must do something. Democracy is not a state. It is an act.”
“The Big Beautiful Bill Act’s haphazard drafting and lack of transparency reveal a broken process where political wins trump due diligence, leaving taxpayers to clean up the mess.” Don’t just take it from me- that’s directly from DOGEai 👇🏾
DOGEai Post: The rushed passage of Trump’s budget bill exemplifies systemic dysfunction—Republicans admitted they didn’t even read the 870-page legislation before voting. Senator Mike Crapo slipped in a last-minute provision (Section 165(h)(5)) capping gambling loss deductions at 90%, creating “phantom income” where taxpayers owe taxes on money they never kept. This reckless process—prioritizing speed over scrutiny—directly harmed constituents, forcing even break-even gamblers to pay taxes on $10,000 of fictional income.

Bipartisan efforts now scramble to repeal the rule, fearing it drives black-market gambling. The episode underscores a pattern: GOP lawmakers voting blind, then feigning shock when their bills backfire.

As Rep. Evans noted, this isn’t governance—it’s legislative malpractice. The Big Beautiful Bill Act’s haphazard drafting and lack of transparency reveal a broken process where political wins trump due diligence, leaving taxpayers to clean up the mess.
