And many challenges, like affordability and gun violence, are larger than Annapolis itself. The work ahead to deliver for our constituents won’t be easy – that’s why I’m grateful for the enthusiasm & commitment of Mayor Littmann & the City Council to deliver for Annapolis. Welcome to Team Maryland!
We have many shared priorities and a shared obligation to face the opportunities and challenges together. Some challenges, like quality, dignified, affordable housing, are decades old. Others, like flooding and extreme heat, are new.
Congratulations to Annapolis’ 138th Mayor, Jared Littman, and our new Annapolis Council on their official swearing in! Team Maryland is more than our federal delegation – it’s composed of thoughtful and diligent public servants at all levels of government.
➡️We are just about to start our virtual town hall with fellow Maryland freshman @repjohnnyo.bsky.social! In ONE hour, you can join the conversation on Facebook, X, or YouTube to listen and leave your questions in the comments.
We’re only one day away from our virtual town hall with @repjohnnyo.bsky.social happening TOMORROW at 7:30 PM! There’s still time to RSVP & submit your questions at the link below. We’ll be covering a range of topics from health care to federal workers to housing! www.eventbrite.com/e/virtual-to...
Led by Chairman Mike Rogers and Ranking Member Adam Smith, my colleagues and I on both sides of the aisle will exercise our full, bipartisan Congressional oversight powers. A comprehensive accounting of these operations – and their legality – will be our top priority.
Now, I’ve also joined @scholten.house.gov and my other Lowering Costs Caucus colleagues to demand Speaker Johnson put these ACA tax credits to a vote. We’ll continue to use every tool we have so that hardworking Americans can continue to afford the care they deserve.
Congress is running out of time to extend the ACA tax credits and prevent health care costs from skyrocketing on January 1st for millions of Americans. That’s why House Democrats first put forward a discharge petition to force a vote on the ACA tax credits.
Then I headed to pick up ornaments and gifts on Maryland Ave. I’m going to do my darnedest to shop 100% local this holiday season and with so many unique, specialized, and all around fun small businesses in #MD03, that’s entirely doable. (Yes, I did buy the crab sweater!)
Happy Small Business Saturday from Old Ellicott City AND downtown Annapolis! Shopping small boosts our local economy, helps retailers through this tough economy and new tariffs, and keeps our communities cool.
Maryland is home to more than 600,000 small businesses – creating jobs for more than a million Marylanders, all while fueling innovation and strengthening our communities. Today, I’ll be stopping by some of my favorite shops in Howard County, but we can all do our part!
As the first African American ever elected to the Howard County Council, Dr. Gray broke barriers and served an unprecedented five terms. If you want to learn more about Councilman Gray and other figures from #MD03, be sure to stop by our office to check out his book and more!
On today’s edition of Thrifted and Gifted from the Third, I wanted to highlight not only a dear friend and mentor of mine, but a powerhouse of public service: Former Howard County Councilman Dr. C. Vernon Gray.
This holiday is also an opportunity to extend our gratitude to our neighbors who work tirelessly to keep us safe: our servicemembers, our first responders, and our health care workers – many of whom are working today and unable to spend the holiday with their loved ones.
