From trying delicacies of Maryland’s Third District at the Taste of Maryland Event (shout out to The Common Kitchen in Clarksville, Naval Bagels in Annapolis, and Baugher's Orchard & Farm in neighboring Westminster!) to meeting others just as passionate about blue catfish mitigation.

My team and I had a great time meeting with constituents and our state and local partners across Maryland at the 2025 Summer MACo Conference in Ocean City.
Our next telephone town hall is coming up on Monday, September 15th at 7:30 PM. Talk soon and RSVP at the link below ☎️
On deck: An in-person October Town Hall with @brookelierman.bsky.social & @oagmaryland.bsky.social.
But now, nearly 200 facilities are at risk of closure. I’ve joined more than 130 of my colleagues across the House and Senate to introduce legislation to repeal these provisions that would threaten access to lifesaving resources for millions across the country.
Planned Parenthood provides more than just reproductive resources; they provide lifesaving cancer screenings, STI testing, and are often some of the only health care Americans in medically underserved communities receive in a year.
By far one of the most damaging outcomes of President Trump’s Big, Ugly Law was blocking Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood.
This week, I was thrilled to join local, state, and federal leaders to celebrate one step in the journey of the transformation of this historic Crownsville Campus. Congratulations to Sapphire Rise, NAMI Anne Arundel County, and One Annapolis on your new home. More to come!
Since my time in the State Senate, I’ve fought for funding to help ensure @aacoexec.bsky.social’s mission to make the historic Crownsville campus a site of healing, remembrance, and opportunity.
Exciting news: the Nonprofit Center at Crownsville Hospital Memorial Park is officially open! Anne Arundel County residents can now enjoy professional development resources, virtual and in-person support services, and a space for local events.
As always, if my office can be of assistance with an immigration agency, you can speak to a member of my team at (410) 832-8890
Let me be clear: we all want violent criminals off the street. But by ICE’s own admission, 84% of detainees picked up under the Trump Administration are deemed to not be a threat to the public - far from the the “worst of the worst” the President is claiming.
I just returned from touring the Baltimore ICE Facility with @repkweisimfume.bsky.social and @vanhollen.senate.gov to get answers about the conditions of detainees and their legal rights to due process, including access to attorneys, medication, and family members.
Today, just 16 days after our first visit, #TeamMaryland is back at the ICE Facility in Baltimore exercising our legal right to oversight because - just like we said before - a locked door will not stop us from getting answers on behalf of our constituents. Stay tuned for updates.
This decision means more than 8,000 employees will no longer have their labor contracts recognized or be able to file grievances before a neutral arbitrator – including for discrimination, health, safety, and environmental issues. We must all stand together to protect workers’ rights and our planet.
Once again, the Trump Administration is attacking our expert scientists with the EPA Administrator unilaterally eliminating nearly all collective bargaining actions at the agency.
Instead, just as crime rates are at their lowest rate in 30 years, the President’s attempts to distract from other burning issues with this takeover is a troubling step towards authoritarianism. See the regional delegation’s full statement above.
A serious response would have been to not withhold $1 billion in federal funding owed to D.C. yet mysteriously left out of the Republican’s Continuing Resolution that would go to paying police officers, fire fighters, and teachers.
President Trump’s takeover of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department - and veiled threats to extend such a takeover to other American cities - is an unserious and dangerous policy response to keeping communities safe.
I’ve joined nearly 60 of my Democratic colleagues to demand answers from federal agencies on these RIFs for our constituents in need.
But, with President Trump and DOGE’s large-scale, reckless reductions in force, more and more caseworkers are receiving bounce-back emails and no-replies from federal agencies, leaving constituent cases delayed or unresolved.
