For now, to reach the most folks, I’m going to cross post on Bluesky/Threads/X. But I’ve noticed I’m already posting less on X and more here. We need all the Capitol Hill press corps and national media to migrate here and hopefully at minimum cross post for now. That’s going to make this site sing.
The President just signed my first bill to become law! Proud of my bipartisan Inspector General Parity Act. This reform improves oversight & strengthens the Government Accountability Office to continue detecting fraud, & corruption in government. More important now than ever.
Glad you are here now! I mean I think there are some genuine bipartisian relationships and even I have some. But personally, I’m not going to be friends with or work with people that believe I should have no rights because im gay. Its hard but I knew what I was getting myself into.
Followed you when I was on Twitter/X. Glad you moved over. Question, are people in Congress really that divided and decisive? If so, how does it affect you? Thank for all you do!
I’ve been doing so, and think it’s cruel and dehumanizing to Rep McBride and trans capitol staff and visitors. Dem strategy cannot be to ignore or leave behind trans or any marganilized group. Forceful pushback and being in the fight has to be part of who we are.
Can we count on you to push back against the Congressional rule that transgender people must use the bathroom of their birth assigned gender?
Oversight is my jam. It really allows me to use what I learned as a mayor to make more accountable to the people. Plus I don’t mind taking on bullies. Most frustrating is covid select committee because Marjorie Taylor Greene is at her worst when she attacks doctors and vaccines.
Of your three (?) committees, which is your favourite? And which is the most frustrating?
