Happy #EarthDay2025 ! I just left Penn State Berks
where I got to meet with an impressive group of students using their technical know how to help protect our planet. The group is participating in the Nittany AI challenge, trying to develop innovative uses for AI to address pressing global issues.🧵
Please join me on Thursday, 4/24 for my 97th town hall. We'll be talking tariff, trade and the economy with Moody's Cris deRitis and Lucine Sihelnik from the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance.

When Trump was elected, his job was clear: lower prices and help working families make ends meet.
He not only failed to help the US economy, he's tanking the global economy. House Republicans must put the people first and join Democrats in stopping Trump.

Ranking Member @adamsmith.house.gov joined Anderson Cooper on @cnn.com to talk about the news that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth again shared detailed operational plans ahead of military action on an unsecure Signal chat, this time w/a group that included his family.

Pope Francis was both an incredible man and an inspiring leader. May his example of compassion and grace encourage us all. Rest in peace, Pope Francis.
To be clear, there is bipartisan opposition to cutting AmeriCorps. Just last week, Reps. Bacon and Fitzpatrick joined @dorismatsui.bsky.social and me in supporting AmeriCorps and reminding Trump that public service is one of the greatest American values.
I am outraged by the Trump Administration's attempt to gut AmeriCorps, beginning with disaster relief efforts. Right now, there are AmeriCorps volunteers repairing Hurricane Helene damage in No Carolina being recalled, so they can be fired at the end of the month. www.politico.com/news/2025/04...

I am stunned to see Rep. Meuser try to blame an arson and terror attack on the victims of it. Scoring cheap political points at the expense of the Shapiro family is disgusting.

Happy 61st birthday to Wawa, a Pennsylvania institution!
PA06--join me for my 97th town hall next week. We're going to talk about tariffs and trade with special guests from Moody's Analytics and the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance. I'm looking forward to hearing from you!
Thank you to my colleague @frankel.house.gov for doing this!
It's #TaxDay2025 and thanks to the Biden-Harris administration, you may be eligible to file for free online with IRS DirectFile. Go to directfile.irs.gov.
As a veteran, I will do everything in my power to protect their hard-earned benefits. We owe it to those who served this nation, no matter what Donald Trump thinks of them.
They're worried about rumors that Coatesville VA and other area services will be eliminated. They're outraged that fellow veterans are being fired from federal agencies. The Trump Administration’s chaotic cuts to the VA and across the federal government are hurting our veterans and their loved ones.
I was grateful but also heartbroken to talk recently with veterans in our community who are reeling from the cuts to the VA. They are angry about longer wait times and reduced access to healthcare services because of workforce changes. 🧵
I talked to @militarytimes.bsky.social about the Pentagon rolling back policy for pregnant aviators that will ultimately hurt the career trajectory of female pilots.

This Administration has proven time and again that they can't be trusted with information, classified or otherwise. Keep DOGE and Elon Musk out of the VA. Proud to sponsor this bill w @repherbconaway.bsky.social and @carbajal.house.gov today.
It is already illegal for non-citizens to vote! @HouseGOP's 'proof of citizenship' bill will force troops stationed overseas to return home to vote and make it nearly impossible for women who have changed their last name to cast a ballot. This bill is pure theater and I was proud to oppose it.
