Claim: “Inflation is down” Reality: You’re not crazy. Your dollar isn’t stretching as far. Groceries, energy, housing, healthcare: prices are up ⬆️. Americans are paying almost $1600 more for just the basics. The kicker? The Administration’s illegal tariffs are partly to blame.
Claim: “We have 4 million less people on food stamps.” Reality:❌This Administration made the largest cuts to SNAP (food assistance) in the country. 13.7% of Americans are struggling with food insecurity as of 2026. The highest rate since 2014.
I will NOT be at the State of the Union tonight. I am not here to play politics. I am here to work for the people in my district. I’ll be fact checking claims made at the State of the Union here and on my other pages.
The ROTOR Act just died on the House floor. I don’t want to look in the eyes of another family member who lost a child or parent or spouse. I’m really disappointed and looking at next steps of how we can get the right legislation passed.

This past week, my team and I travelled around the Central and South Coast meeting with community members and local leaders to talk about crafting policy that improves life for everyone in our district. These were some of our stops⬇️
It was so great to speak with @uopppm.bsky.social Intro to Public Policy class yesterday and discuss the inner workings of Congress and the issues important to young people. Our students are essential to the political process and are doing big things. Go ducks!
I know gaslighting when I see it. Loving our country and being a true patriot means embracing our history, warts and all, so we know how far we have come, how far we have yet to go and where we never want to go again.
We can’t celebrate America by whitewashing our history. The President and my colleagues want to use the 250th anniversary of our country to rewrite history into a white supremacist narrative and pretend it’s normal.
