Ella McCay is a visible mess that includes one of the worst I'm-back-for-the-reshoot wigs in film history but the thing is, James L. Brooks has not one but four lifetime passes (MTM, Simpsons, Terms of Endearment, Broadcast News), so maybe you will watch this some night and remember those and smile.
This story is the place where two of the worst trends in journalism--"My job is to police anything that I can pretend is an excess of the left" and "Contrarianism is the greatest of all virtues"--meet, have sex on top of a rusty alley dumpster, and pass out in each other's arms.
“Those of us on the left should be fighting to improve protections for workers of all races, and thereby for the betterment of people’s material conditions regardless of their views,” Arash Azizi argues:
I don't have kids, but this is an absolutely batshit way to talk about your own son, right?
Trump on his wife's legislative initiative: "I just heard about that for the first time. The only thing I can tell you, I know one thing for sure, it's going to be great for children. I don't know what it is she's doing. She loves children. She's got a wonderful boy. And she's very proud of her boy"
The name Donald Coburn won't mean much to a lot of people, but he won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama almost 50 years ago for The Gin Game, which was directed by Mike Nichols and has since been produced countless times. He may have been a one-hit wonder--but it was a BIG hit. Gone at 87. RIP.
I am not sure how to get people back into theaters or if it's possible, but I do know that if the strongest remaining argument is "you SHOULD," or something about the holiness of the collective big-screen experience, the battle is lost. That has no traction with people who don't already believe it.
This...looks terrible? Is the magazine making some point about what AI still can't do, because otherwise, I don't get why you'd go out with something that looks like it was put together with safety scissors and Elmer's Glue.
The Time magazine Person of the Year cover, "The Architects of AI," with heads misproportioned on bodies.
...and that was before THIS development. What a catastrophe that this unqualified hobbyist and his right-wing daddy now have their fingers around the throat of CBS News. bsky.app/profile/bgru...
David Ellison appears to be mortified that CBS/60 Minutes is “going rogue” by covering the news and by keeping him “in the dark” about a segment critical of Trump. Because Ellison doesn’t realize that’s how it’s supposed to work. nypost.com/2025/12/10/m...
Sources say Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison has told people close to Trump he was unaware of the broadcast until the day it ran, as was Jeff Shell, president of Paramount Skydance, and Weiss.
•
"They're saying those guys went rogue and when Paramount Skydance found out about it, they were caught flatfooted," said one person with direct knowledge of the matter.
The sources say paramount's brass insists that
"60 Minutes" staffers kept them mostly in the dark about the controversial interview that aired Sunday night - which provoked Trump to declare that Paramount Skydance and its management "ARE NO BETTER THAN THE OLD OWNERSHIP."
"Since they bought it, 60 Minutes has actually gotten WORSE!" Trump added of the Ellisons.
I watched the first three episodes of Heated Rivalry. Hot, fun, nicely written and acted, knows EXACTLY what it wants to deliver and delivers it. I'm crushed not to have a smirky take for you.
For those who are complaining: a Democrat challenging an incumbent Democrat because he doesn't think the incumbent is doing a good job, and voters getting the chance to decide if they agree, is exactly how the system is supposed to work. If you give up on that, I don't know what you're rooting for.
Brad Lander vs. Daniel Goldman is going to be a fascinating NYC race which I fear is going to suck up an ungodly amount of money. Can't wait to see polling on it.

The only conclusion I can draw from this is that there is something physically wrong and cognitively wrong with Trump, he knows it, and he's angry and frightened.
Every part of this is bonkers. The intro is bonkers. The transition to his health is bonkers. The mention that other presidents didn't need cognitive exams is bonkers. The claim that this screening test is somehow hard is bonkers. The idea that criticism of him is treason is bonkers. All of it.
There has never been a President that has worked as hard as me! My hours are the longest, and my results are among the best. I’ve stopped Eight Wars, saving many millions of lives in the process, created the Greatest Economy in the History of our Country, brought Business back into the United States at levels never seen before, rebuilt our Military, created the Largest Tax Cuts and Regulation Cuts, EVER, closed our open and very dangerous Southern Border, when previous Administrations were unable to do so, and created an “aura” around the United States of America that has led every Country in the World to respect us more than ever before. In addition to all of that, I go out of my way to do long, thorough, and very boring Medical Examinations at the Great Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, seen and supervised by top doctors, all of whom have given me PERFECT Marks — Some have even said they have never seen such Strong Results. I do these Tests because I owe it to our Country. In addition to the Medical, I have done something that no other President has done, on three separate occasions, the last one being recently, by taking what is known as a Cognitive Examination, something which few people would be able to do very well, including those working at The New York Times, and I ACED all three of them in front of large numbers of doctors and experts, most of whom I do not know. I have been told that few people have been able to “ace” this Examination and, in fact,
most do very poorly, which is why many other Presidents have decided not to take it at all. Despite all of this, the time and work involved, The New York Times, and some others, like to pretend that I am “slowing up,” am maybe not as sharp as I once was, or am in poor physical health, knowing that it is not true, and knowing that I work very hard, probably harder than I have ever worked before. I will know when I am “slowing up,” but it’s not now! After all of the work I have done with Medical Exams, Cognitive Exams, and everything else, I actually believe it’s seditious, perhaps even treasonous, for The New York Times, and others, to consistently do FAKE reports in order to libel and demean “THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.” They are true Enemies of the People, and we should do something about it. They have inaccurately reported on all of my Election Results and, in fact, were forced to apologize on much of what they wrote. The best thing that could happen to this Country would be if The New York Times would cease publication because they are a horrible, biased, and untruthful “source” of information. Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
I read this and thought, this can't be right because it would mean that only about 40,000 people vote in Miami mayoral races. Then I looked at the last two elections and...yup. Live and learn!
JUST IN: It appears Democrats will win the mayor's office in Miami. This would be a flip from GOP. It's not final yet, but Democrat Eileen Higgins is up 61% to 39% as the first 23K ballots are counted. That's *the majority of votes cast*, & Election Day is no less Democratic today. More soon!
