Given that Netanyahu has already threatened Naza's directors, the film deserves loud and full-throated support and I hope the U.S. film community steps up for it. Hopefully he's just Streisand-effected the movie into getting the large audience that it absolutely merits.

Not sure how Paper Tiger will play with audiences when it opens; it sends you out of the theater on a (not really a spoiler) complicated/ambivalent note, which is always tricky. But I was held by the script straight through and by Gray's very sure touch. There's no preening in this movie.
James Gray's Paper Tiger (tonight @ NYFF64): For me, his best--an exceptionally mature, grounded, emotional crime/family drama. Beautiful work w/ actors: Adam Driver is characteristically great, Scarlett Johansson is impeccable in a surprising character role, and Miles Teller does career-best work.
