It shouldn’t be a radical idea that in the wealthiest country in the world, everyone deserves life-saving emergency care in a hospital—whether they’re visiting, immigrated here, or were born here. But in Trump’s America, we’re forced to say it out loud.
It’s shameful that the Global Sumud Flotilla has been intercepted by Israel on its way to Gaza. Blocking aid in the midst of a famine caused by this endless war will only lead to even more lives lost.
End the blockade.
End the genocide.
Release the hostages.
End this war NOW.
I’ll just leave this here.
Donald Trump and Republicans have shut down the federal government, but my office is open and working for the American people.
There’s no one tougher, smarter, or more caring than @jayapal.house.gov. An AZ Republican’s call for political violence against her is disgraceful and beneath the offices we serve. We must set an example for others to follow. Republicans must stop this dangerous rhetoric immediately.
Republicans controlled the White House, Senate, House of Representatives all year. They knew they needed Democrats to avert a shutdown. Not once did they try and work with Democrats to do that. Now with one day left, this shutdown is on Democrats? They think you’re stupid.
Mereda and I are saddened to hear about the passing of our friend, Judge and former State Senator, Ronald Ramsey. Our prayers and condolences go out to his wife, Doris, and his loved ones during this difficult time.
Wishing you and your loved ones in GA-04 and beyond a happy and healthy New Year! Shanah Tovah U'metukah!
I have a right to freedom of speech, and I exercised that right today by voting no on a resolution that would honor a man who didn’t believe I deserved a seat at his table. It’s our table. We all have a right to be there.
If you can’t exercise your First Amendment right in this country, is it still a democracy?

WATCH @hankjohnson.house.gov on why we need the #FAIRAct to #EndForcedArbitration:
"You can't get a cellphone, or a credit card, or even a job nowadays unless you sign away your right to a jury trial because that's what every corporation is requiring."

"We will be getting to the bottom of this deprivation of the first amendment."
@hankjohnson.house.gov tells @deanobeidallah.bsky.social that Democrats will look into FCC Chair Brendan Carr if they win back the house in 2026.

FBI Director Kash Patel is hiding, shielding, and protecting pedophiles. He needs to answer for it and stop trying to take credit for his predecessor's work.
My heart and prayers go out to Charlie Kirk’s wife, 2 small children, and the rest of his family and many friends. Charlie was a human being who did not deserve this. Political violence is always unacceptable.
I have supported this legislation from the beginning and signed the discharge petition last night. If there is nothing to hide, bring this to the floor now, Speaker Johnson. The victims deserve justice, and the American people deserve the truth.
Ranking Member Hank Johnson’s Statement on Trump’s directive ending collective bargaining at the Office of the Commissioner for Patents.
CDC Director Dr. Susan Monarez refused to put politics over sound science. Her questionable firing, and subsequent resignations of top CDC leaders, as we head into peak respiratory season is a recipe for disaster. Secretary Kennedy, you are a disgrace and threat to public health.
