The House just passed a funding bill that does NOTHING to stop 15 million Americans from being kicked off their health care or protect our democracy. But it DOES let Senators involved in the January 6th investigation SUE the government for $500,000 each.
In case it wasn’t clear, I voted NO.
Millions of Americans will see their health care premiums double or triple next year – but instead of addressing that, what was the GOP’s priority? Sneaking a provision into the CR so Republican Senators could sue the DOJ for $500k each because of the January 6th investigation.

But we shouldn’t forget that we are in this place to begin with because Republicans have refused to address the health care crisis at all, and are literally fighting in the courts to not feed hungry Americans. They’re not the heroes here.
Both Senate Democrats and Republicans have failed in their responsibility to address the health care crisis and rein in a dangerous president who consistently ignores Congress’s authority and the rule of law. This “deal” is offensive to the American people and I won’t support it.

We’ve been warning about widespread travel delays since Republicans shut the government down 38 days ago.
Democrats have been demanding meetings to negotiate and reopen the government and Republicans have repeatedly refused. We can’t go on like this.
Starting yet another forever war won’t solve violence in Nigeria; in fact, it’s likely to escalate violence further. We had diplomacy, development, and conflict-prevention tools that could’ve addressed root causes, but Donald Trump slashed them.
