🚨This month's job report is a stark warning: The Trump/GOP tariffs and tax policy continue to cause chaos, drive up costs, and lead to massive job loss. 78,000 job losses in manufacturing alone since January!

"This bill fails to address the cost of living crisis currently underway."
@repmarcykaptur.bsky.social is exactly right: this anti-environment appropriations bill is the latest clean energy attack by Republicans that will drive up energy costs even higher for families 👇
The Committee For a Responsible Budget estimates Trump’s Big Bonanza Bill for Billionaires *might* boost growth by 1%, but only in the short term. Trillions of dollars of debt, cuts that hit working Americans in their pocket books, and continued inflation. A horrible deal for taxpayers and America.
Energy and Water are not optional, but essential to sustaining life. America can and must meet the new age frontiers of Energy and Water. We must not turn back the clock, but seize the baton for future generations to come. Now is the moment to keep us on a steady path forward.
Yet again, we are going over a bill which puts Billionaires first, and slashes resources for working households. It limits the IRS' ability to ensure the ultra wealthy and big corporations pay their fair share, while cutting free tax filing services. We need to support Main Street, not Wall Street.
Release the Epstein Files! The President promised their release and yet, rich and powerful interests are working to bury them. Who are they protecting? The Washington elite? The Billionaires? The politicians? Those who think they are above the law? Maybe the President himself? We deserve the truth.

GOP Energy Bill CUTS from:
🚨 Energy efficiency & infrastructure
🚨 Nuclear threat prevention
🚨 Radioactive waste cleanup
🚨 Public-private energy innovation
Energy & Water Subcommittee Ranking Member @repmarcykaptur.bsky.social is fighting against these cuts: www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjjF...
Household electric bills are up 10% nationally since January, and in some places energy prices have more than doubled. Just ask anybody who lives in northern Ohio! This GOP Energy & Water bill retreats from US Continental and global leadership, while Communist China invests record levels in energy.
Today marks 80 years since the Japanese surrendered to the Allies in the Pacific, and formally ended WWII. I have long championed the cause to uplift the Greatest Generation who I call the most unselfish generation. They preserved Liberty for generations and deserve our deepest gratitude.
LISC AmeriCorps members, alumni, and local organizations are doing important work in Toledo and our NW Ohio communities helping to connect residents to housing, boost financial stability, and create thriving neighborhoods. Building on these relationships moves our region forward!
The Toledo Labor Day Parade highlights our region’s rich labor history even as Steelworkers and Machinists are on strike at Libbey Glass, standing strong. I urge all parties to return to the table and reach a fair contract.
On #InternationalOverdoseAwarenessDay we take action to address overdose deaths. This year during Overdose Awareness Week I want to uplift the efforts of Sandusky County Public Health whose work cut Opioid deaths in half. There’s a long way to go—but together we are helping to address this epidemic.
Surrounded by hundreds of strong women from across NW Ohio, we celebrated our 10th Annual Women’s Equality Day. Working together we are building a better future for generations of girls growing up in our hardworking region.
The Fulton County Fair, Ohio’s second largest, is such a treat! Thanks to the Fulton County Farm Bureau and Veterans Service Officers for all their work to showcase their work, and serve our veterans and farmers. And the famous Fulton County Milkshake…oh my!
Spent the afternoon standing with United Steelworkers and Machinists Union on strike at Libbey Glass in Toledo. They deserve a contract that ensures safe working conditions, retirement security, and dignity on the job. As we approach Labor Day it’s time for management to come back to the table.
Bittersweet Farms in Whitehouse is doing pathbreaking work in its mission. First envisioned by our beloved Bettye Ruth Kay, the impact of Bittersweet and all those who make it special for adults with autism in our NW Ohio communities is incalculable.

Heartbreaking news from Minnesota at the Annunciation Catholic School. Thinking about the community of students, families, and teachers grappling with this horrific act of terror. Our kids should be focused on the start of a school year filled with possibility, not this trauma and horror.
Today marks 105 years of the 19th Amendment, a landmark forged by courageous suffragettes who marched, protested, and sacrificed for equal rights. We honor their vision, and echo their commitment to a more perfect union. Standing on their shoulders, we continue working for true equality for all.
My heartfelt congratulations to Ohio native Travis Kelce on his engagement to Pennsylvania native Taylor Swift. Now that I have your attention—we must do everything we can to protect Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid before it is too late. People in both our states and nationwide depend on it.
