It was my honor to celebrate the life of William J. Darah Jr. of NW Ohio on the House floor. He was a husband, father, grandfather and businessman who embodied the American dream of hard work, integrity, and devotion to family. Bill was a natural leader, a storyteller, and a man whose word mattered.
Kristi Noem’s firing doesn’t change the waste, lawlessness, mismanagement, and abuse at ICE that led to the death of Americans. ICE and CBP need reform and the same standards as all law enforcement agencies. Reopen DHS, TSA, Cyber Defense, and Coast Guard; clean up ICE and CBP.
As of this morning, Ohio has the second highest average cost increase for a gallon of gas in the country. Gas is up an average of 66 cents per gallon across the Buckeye State in 1 week. My neighborhood has stations up over 70 cents per gallon with no end in sight—this is unaffordable for our people!
From our Great Lakes Ports roundtable this week: Great Lakes ports move over 136 million tons of cargo, support over 241,000 jobs, and create $36 Billion in economic impact each year. Support for our Great Lakes region comes from the Big Middle, across party lines.
Russia has aided Iran in the targeting of American troops and assets, and China is soon to follow. We cannot ignore Moscow and Beijing coordinating with Tehran as part of the Spiderweb of Tyranny. When will this Administration get serious about sanctions on Putin and Russia?
Great afternoon on the Henry County Fairgrounds in Napoleon for the Northwest Ohio Ag Expo. Thank you to the Ohio Farm Bureau and all event sponsors for all you do. Always enjoy spending time alongside so many agricultural organizations, farmers, producers and growers from across our fertile region.
Thank you to Canadian Ambassador Mark Wiseman for hosting stakeholders from across our Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Seaway partnership for the annual Great Lakes Day reception at the Canadian Embassy to the United States. US/Canada trade creates good paying jobs for many in our Great Lakes region.
The new jobs report shows an economy in crisis. Job-killing policies, illegal tariff tax hikes, and fiscal malpractice continue to wreak havoc, while golf, luxury planes, gold laden ballrooms, and jet setting to the Olympics becomes business as usual in this White House.
This week, as we celebrated General Casimir Pulaski Day, honoring his enduring legacy of service to the cause of Liberty during the American Revolution, I led the Co-Chairs of the Congressional Poland Caucus to introduce a resolution honoring 250 years of Polish-American relations.
This weekend, the Trump-Vance Administration launched a regime change war on Iran. As a co-sponsor of the Iran War Powers Resolution, I know that no vote was called in Congress prior to this profound and unprecedented military action. The American people deserve affordability, not more foreign wars.
Gas prices in Ohio are up 36 cents per gallon over the last 3 days, and President Trump says “if they rise, they rise.” Cost increases like this hit working families hard. We need the President's focus on affordability for American families.
Welcomed #RailDay2026 advocates to Capitol Hill! Freight and passenger rail drives jobs, power manufacturing and farming, and get our people where they are going. We fight together for investment in safer, modern infrastructure to protect communities and grow our economy!
I hear it in checkout lines, at the gas pump and almost everywhere I go: groceries are up, utility bills are higher and rent is stretching families thin. No one is asking for handouts. They’re asking for a fair shot. President Trump promised to solve the affordability crisis, but it’s getting WORSE.

Everywhere I go working people talk to me about affordability. It’s their top concern. While grocery prices continue to rise, in the last 24 hours alone, the average price for a gallon of gas in Ohio is up 22 cents a gallon, from $2.78➡️$3.00. When will the GOP help us make life more affordable?
Americans are facing higher energy costs, but it's not their fault. The Trump Administration is rolling back incentives to help lower costs and create new energy systems of the future. We need to stand up for affordability—not send our country backward.
