Great to be back in Gibsonburg for the AgCredit annual meeting and dinner in Sandusky County. Thanks to Scott Chalfin for hosting us at his table alongside President and CEO Brian Ricker. Honored to hear from retired New York City Fire Department Lieutenant Joe Torillo, who served honorably on 9/11.
Great to welcome Chair Brenda Mallory of the White House CEQ to NW Ohio to meet with our community. We talked about the impact $28.5 Million in federal funding from the Dept. of Energy will have to revitalize Front Street, to reconnect East Toledo neighborhoods, and reinvigorate the NW Ohio economy.
Visited Wieland Chase in Williams County and discussed the work I’m doing in Congress to crack down on foreign dumping of brass into American markets and to stand up for our Steelworkers.
Even before derailments in East Palestine and Sandusky, Ohio, I supported efforts to mandate a two-person train crew to improve safety for rail workers. I applaud President Biden, the USDOT, and the Federal Railroad Administration for taking this important step forward for rail safety.
In case you missed it as they hightailed it out of town for 2.5 weeks, 80% of the dwindling House GOP majority put forth a proposal that would raise the retirement age for those already paying into #SocialSecurity. I guarantee you this would never happen on House Democrats watch.
Wishing everyone celebrating a Happy Easter! #EasterSunday
Who wore it better?
I am continuously inspired by Evan’s resilience in the face of this grave injustice. His work to shine a bright light on the darkness, is a beacon of Liberty and hope in one of the darkest countries on Earth. Evan must be released immediately without any further delay. #FreeEvan
For one year Evan Gershkovich has been illegally detained by the tyrant Putin — taken captive for being an effective and fearless journalist who exposed the truth in the face of Putin’s lies about his illegal war in Ukraine. Journalism and speaking truth to power are not a crime.
Great to tour Ohio’s own Parker Hannifin and get a chance to talk with them about their groundbreaking work in everything from water filtration, to aerospace.
You can learn more about this DOE award, and other Ohio businesses and communities that benefited from this new round of funding here:
$61 Million in Department of Energy funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act will assist NW Ohio companies decarbonization efforts. We are adding 300+ new jobs and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Great conversations and long friendships at Ottawa County Farm Bureau Legislative Luncheon. Thanks to Michelle Miller, Amy Kearns, Ottawa County officials, and most importantly our farmers, producers, and growers for inviting me to discuss upcoming Farm Bill and federal agriculture priorities.
Wishing a #HappyHoli to everyone celebrating in Ohio, across our country, and around the globe.
Visited the Salvation Army food pantry and facilities. Renovations for a new kitchen and community services are underway. The commitment to serve is so inspiring.
Honored to join local leaders this past Saturday to celebrate Hungarian-Polish Friendship Day. May this be the start of a wonderful tradition for the Polish-American and Hungarian-American communities of NW Ohio, that we celebrate together for many years to come.

On this #NationalPuppyDay sharing some adorable and adoptable puppies I met yesterday from the Puppy Bowl.
The ACA has been a beacon of progress, providing millions with access to quality health care. Today we're building on it by making it more affordable, helping small business, closing Medicaid gaps, keeping kids covered, expanding home care, and ensuring mental health care. #ACA14
During #WomensHistoryMonth, celebrating the life’s work of my Ohio colleague and esteemed friend, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Marcia Fudge as she retires from her Cabinet position today. Her deep commitment to Northern Ohio and to our nation is an inspiration to so many.
