So the plan is another year of war, higher gas prices, and hoping Iran “comes to the table”? That’s not a strategy, that’s a wish.

Congrats to the 2026 U.S. Presidential Scholars, including Virginians Yalini Kathamuthu of Herndon and Nived Nandakumar of Chantilly! Years ago, I urged President Obama to open this honor to Career & Technical Education students, and I’m thrilled to see 15 CTE scholars named.
I’ve seen Virginia’s first responders at their best in our worst moments: floods, fires, emergencies. On National First Responders Day and always, I’m grateful for their courage and committed to making sure they have the equipment, training, and mental health support they need.
Trump’s tariffs are fueling inflation, and inflation is crushing Virginia families. People are paying more for groceries, cars, and everyday goods because of a choice this Administration made. It can be undone. Congress should do its job.

It’s been eight years since 11 worshippers at Tree of Life Synagogue were murdered in the deadliest antisemitic attack in American history. May their memories be a blessing and a call to action against hate and gun violence.
Now is the time to announce the path to free elections. I endorse Senator Bernie Moreno’s call for a Presidential election by July 24, 2027, the birthday of Liberator Simón Bolívar. Liberate Venezuela from dictatorship. Liberate Venezuela from foreign domination. Venezuela for Venezuelans!
Northern Virginia’s water supply depends on the work happening every day at the Upper Occoquan Service Authority. Thank you to the UOSA team in Centreville for the tour, where the $1M+ in federal funding I secured will modernize its septic waste facility.
In Leesburg, I toured the new Loudoun Crisis Receiving and Stabilization Center, built with $4.1M in federal funding I helped secure to put critical care in reach for those in crisis. I appreciate Loudoun Chair Phyllis Randall partnership in making behavioral health resources a priority.
In Leesburg, I toured the new Loudoun Crisis Receiving and Stabilization Center, built with $4.1M in federal funding I helped secure critical care in reach for those in crisis. I appreciate Loudan Chair Phyllis Randall partnership in making behavioral health resources a priority.

Survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault deserve safety and support. In Dumfries, I toured ACTSPWC to see how the $1.78 million in federal funding I secured will help provide temporary housing and other critical services to help promote healing.
Trump’s vanity projects — a gold ballroom, a $100M “Triumphal Arch,” gold-plated horse statues, a $50M golf course — are set to cost taxpayers $1.8+ billion.
Here’s what that money could have been spent on:
Great to be at VCU to see Virginia’s only undergraduate robotics and autonomous systems engineering program. I’m proud to have secured $1 million in federal funding to support this research—giving students hands-on experience and a path to in-demand careers in a fast-growing field.
Virginia is for (research) lovers! 300+ Virginians at Haleon in Richmond are working on critical research for over-the-counter products, from Tums to Emergen-C. I’ll keep doing all I can on the Senate’s health committee to promote research and domestic drug manufacturing.
A strong workforce and economy depend on expanding opportunity and removing the barriers to inclusion. National Disability Employment Awareness Month reminds us of the need to better support Americans with disabilities in finding good jobs.
Medicare Open Enrollment has begun! Virginia seniors, 2027 plan options are live. Costs and benefits change yearly, so review your options to protect your health and save money. Contact your local Area Agency on Aging for free, unbiased help navigating your coverage options Find Your AAA – vaaaa.org
My bipartisan Retire through Ownership Act is now law! It’ll facilitate employee stock ownership plans, so workers can share directly in the profits they help create. That means higher wages, more wealth-building, and a real stake in their workplace.

Americans have been forced to pay over $129 billion more for gas and diesel because of Trump’s foolish war in Iran—and it’s been reported that he’s thinking about ordering more strikes! This isn't what the American people want. We must work to lower costs, not continue this war.
The Chesapeake Bay, which is key to Virginia's economy, is the healthiest it has been in at least 40 years! But there's still work to do, and President Trump's repeal of an executive order to help clean it up threatens our progress. I'll keep pushing for improvement.

Are we really surprised? Donald Trump’s failed economic agenda, his foolish and illegal war, and his ridiculous tariffs are driving up costs and hurting American families. Virginians can’t afford more of this, and I’ll keep fighting to bring costs down.
