For generations, the federal government funded research that leads to medical breakthroughs & even cures. But Trump’s massive cuts at NIH and beyond will make our country sicker, poorer, and worse off. Like many of you, this is personal for me.
I held a town hall in Holliston today to hear people’s concerns & talk about how I’m working for them. Folks are scared about their healthcare insurance premiums doubling—Democrats are ready to take action on healthcare, but Republicans refuse to reopen the government. It’s shameful.
Hey MAGA, here’s a list of Trump’s shutdown achievements: -Sending $20 billion of your tax dollars to Argentina -Letting Qatar build an air base in Idaho -Golfing trip while the troops aren’t getting paid Is that America First? Or are you ready to admit he’s a f***ing liar?
Americans were told that if you work hard, you’d have enough to buy a house, raise a family, and maybe take the kids to Disney. Now, most working folks can’t afford a downpayment, childcare, or a vacation. Republicans’ solution? Rip away folks’ healthcare & give handouts to the mega rich.
Running scared again. Speaker Johnson knows America is not buying his BS—people want Republicans to end their shutdown, reopen the government & prevent health insurance premiums from doubling. Instead of trying to work on a deal, he’s canceling another week of work. Pathetic!
First, Republicans threw 15 million folks off healthcare to pay for a big billionaire handout in their Big Ugly Bill. Now, they’re letting healthcare tax credits expire—making treatment more expensive for EVERYONE. They've wreaked havoc on healthcare, and they’re about to make it EVEN WORSE.
Because Speaker Johnson shut down the government & sent House Republicans home, I went to chat with my good friend @warren.senate.gov about how we’re fighting for folks’ healthcare. ⬇️⬇️⬇️
The Vengeful Radical Republicans are at it again. They don’t care about lowering groceries, making housing affordable, or reforming our rigged healthcare system. Instead, they spend their time on petty personal grievances—weaponizing federal resources for revenge & retribution.
The president could not be more plain: he's planning to use the shutdown to take revenge on Democrats. During a Cabinet meeting, Trump announced the White House would be cutting congressionally approved programs during the closure—but only those supported by Dems. newrepublic.com/post/201554/...
Marjorie Taylor Greene & I don’t agree on… anything. I don’t think we could agree on whether 1 & 1 is 2. But even she knows Republicans are about to DOUBLE folks’ health insurance costs because they won’t act. 3 in 4 ACA enrollees live in states that went for Trump in 2024.
Marjorie Taylor Greene on CNN (!): "I'm getting phone calls from people that are saying if the ACA tax credits expire, they aren't gonna be able to have health insurance. They're going to have to drop it."
Republicans won’t come back to work because we can now force a vote on releasing the Epstein Files. Meanwhile, folks' insurance is skyrocketing because they refuse to extend healthcare tax credits. They’re putting Pedophiles before the American People.
Mike Johnson ignores a question about when he'll swear in Rep.-elect Grijalva and walks away
What a bunch of snowflakes. I had a town hall last week and took tough questions from those who agreed with me & those who didn’t. We found a lot of common ground. My Republican colleagues should try that once in a while.
In 2024, Trump said he had “concepts of a plan” when asked about healthcare. In 2026, your insurance premiums will skyrocket because of his inaction. He still has no plan—only “concepts.”
Trump airlines? Shut down. Trump casinos? Shut down. Trump steaks? Shut down. Trump vodka? Shut down. Trump university? Shut down. Donald Trump has kept his promise to run our government like he ran his companies: shut down, with unpaid workers & blaming everyone but himself.
6/ Meanwhile, an entire Congressional District in Arizona is without representation in Washington. During a government shutdown. While Republicans sit at home on their couches. You literally can’t make this shit up.
