The flurry of unconstitutional Trump Executive Orders and memos issued in the last week make America weaker and less safe. They are increasing costs for health care, housing, and groceries across our country.
President Trump told the American people that he wanted to be a dictator on day one. Now in office, he and his administration are making good on that promise with illegal and unconstitutional actions that directly threaten Americans’ economic, personal, and national security.
Solidarity with Delta Air Lines workers fighting for union recognition. Their service and professionalism are unsurpassed — from ramp, cargo, and tower workers to flight attendants. They deserve decent pay, good benefits, and a voice on the job!
The stop order for foreign aid programs is completely reckless and a danger to U.S. leadership and security around the world. It shows the world that the United States does not keep its word — a damaging reality as our adversaries capitalize on the collapse of U.S. leadership.
This week, the House GOP passed a bill that would interfere with the care pregnant women receive from their doctors and criminalize doctors for providing abortion care. Republicans aren’t leaving abortion to the states — they’re impeding doctors who are caring for their patients.
Donald Trump promised peace. Instead, one of his first moves was to rescind sanctions against extremist Israeli settler groups and individuals who are accused of violence against Palestinians. This threatens to unravel the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
While the attention of the world has rightfully been focused on Gaza, concerning developments are taking place in the West Bank. A wave of violence is sweeping across the territory as extremist Israeli settlers attack Palestinians and vandalize property. www.washingtonpost.com/world/2025/0...
More than 140 police officers were seriously injured and several lost their lives as a result of the traumatic events of that day. Nobody in America takes seriously Republicans who claim to “back the blue” while supporting a felon President who pardons right-wing extremists who attacked cops.
Those who attacked the U.S. Capitol at the direction of President Trump attempted to subvert our democracy by preventing the peaceful transfer of power, and they were each found guilty by a jury. Pardoning these criminals is a reckless act.
I strongly condemn President Trump’s outrageous pardon of over a thousand criminal insurrectionists, including violent right-wing extremists from the Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, and Three Percenters who violently assaulted police officers on January 6, 2021.
So today, I'm re-introducing this critical legislation — not because I think Donald Trump will change his mind, but because we must never, ever give up this fight.
Some places are simply too precious to mine. mccollum.house.gov/media/press-...
But on the campaign trail, Donald Trump threatened to completely disregard the scientific evidence and allow toxic mining pollution to wreak havoc on the Boundary Waters. Project 2025 proposes revoking the 20-year mining ban. www.startribune.com/project-2025...
In 2023, the U.S. Forest Service conducted an extensive environmental assessment and concluded it was in the public interest to protect 225,000 acres of federal lands and lakes in the BWCA’s headwaters. Interior Secretary Haaland then issued a 20-year ban on new mineral leasing.
But this Northern Minnesota treasure is under threat.
A Chilean mining conglomerate has aggressively & relentlessly pursued mineral permits to mine this watershed for copper, which it sells to China to smelt. This has never been done safely. It would destroy the water forever.
The Boundary Waters contain indescribable natural wonders. Pitch-black midnight skies littered with stars and constellations; dense, untouched forests as far as the eye can see; water so pure you can literally drink it straight from the lake.
The Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCA) is a system of pristine lakes, forests, rivers, streams, and portage routes located entirely within the Superior National Forest.
Voyageurs National Park, situated to the northwest of the BWCA, is Minnesota's only national park.
Today, I’m re-introducing the Boundary Waters Wilderness Protection and Pollution Prevention Act.
The BWCA is a national treasure that must be protected, but it's under dire threat from Donald Trump and Republicans who wish to allow toxic copper-sulfide mining in the region. 🧵
Seen at inauguration events: Elon Musk ($433.9 billion), Jeff Bezos ($239.4 billion), Mark Zuckerberg ($211.8 billion), Bernard Arnault ($180 billion), Rupert Murdoch ($22.2 billion), and another dozen billionaires, per @forbes.com.
Who do you think President Trump is fighting for?
Cecile Richards was one of America's fiercest advocates for reproductive freedom. Her leadership empowered millions of women to advocate for justice and equity.
As I mourn her loss, I'll honor her legacy by continuing our fight for equal rights and reproductive health autonomy.
After decades of advocacy from Tribal leaders, I commend President Biden for acting with compassion to commute the sentence of Leonard Peltier. We must acknowledge the injustice that he and many other Native Americans have experienced in our legal system. www.mprnews.org/story/2025/0...
