I’m so proud to stand with my constituents against the illegal and unconstitutional actions being taken by ICE. I voted HELL NO on the DHS funding bill because my constituents send me to Washington to speak for them, and let me say, I sure do hear all of you.
At the direction of Donald Trump, ICE is functioning as a masked military force, sowing chaos, violence, and disorder wherever they deploy. Everyone involved in today’s heinous killing, and the rest of the crimes being committed by ICE, must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Republicans repeatedly undermine America’s health care system and attack the ACA, which allows thousands small business to insure their employees. So when the GOP invited health care CEOs to Washington, I figured I’d ask them about their role in raising health care prices. The answer was silence.
“Influencers” across the country are peddling unfounded claims of fraud and harassing childcare workers. But Republicans shut down my amendment that would have allowed TANF dollars to be spent on security for childcare centers.
Republicans are trying to divert funding from the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program to so-called “crisis pregnancy centers.” The government should be funding programs that uplift women and kids, not propping up manipulative religious “counseling” centers.
On this MLK Day, let’s remember that Dr. King believed in America not as it is, but as it could be. Hope is not passive—it’s a commitment to keep bending the arc toward justice. The promise of America is still ours to fulfill.
Democrats are in the Twin Cities to hear from all those impacted by the violence & chaos ICE is instigating in Minnesota. After everything we’ve heard, I am more resolute in my support of the impeachment of Kristi Noem, who is intentionally directing vicious, unconstitutional attacks on Americans.
The Trump Administration is arbitrarily freezing funding for programs such as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). His efforts to punish so-called “blue states” puts children, women and families at risk to score cheap political points.
Donald Trump promised lower prices on day one. Instead, his inflationary policies just supercharged grocery price increases. Trump says “affordability is a hoax,” but Americans are seeing the truth at the checkout counter.
I served as Ranking Member on the Financial Services Monetary Policy & Trade SubCmte, which has jurisdiction over the Federal Reserve. Threatening the Fed Chair with criminal charges to extort policy changes is a dangerous attack on the Fed’s independence & textbook corruption and abuse of power.
The ACA remains a lifesaving resource for millions and today I voted to protect affordable health care.   I am pleased that several Republicans helped this bill pass. It’s long past time that Republican leadership in both chambers join this effort.
JUST IN: 17 House Republicans joined the chamber's Democrats in voting to revive enhanced ACA subsidies for three years.
