I am devastated to learn about the deadly plane crash in India. This is a terrible tragedy and I am deeply saddened by the many lives lost in this accident. My heart is with all the families and loved ones of the victims and the Ahmedabad community during this difficult time.

A wonderful evening with the Korean American Youth Choir of New York! It was an honor to attend this beautiful performance from such a talented group of students.
We can't put billionaires before babies, seniors, families & all who rely affordable care.
Under the GOP budget nearly 40,000 people in my Queens district will lose their health care coverage to pay for tax cuts that only benefit billionaires.
This is a reality millions of Americans will face regardless of whether they are represented by a Democrat or a Republican.
Every single Republican voted against my amendment to the VA funding bill to guarantee back pay to VA employees who were wrongfully fired and then rehired.
The Administration has admitted that firing them was a mistake. Why should they lose paychecks as a result?
A wonderful opportunity to sit down with Sikh American youth from the Tri-State Area. I'm proud to see young people in the Sikh community engaging with lawmakers, organizing, and working to create a better future for the next generation of Sikh Americans.
I might be biased, but I've always thought that Queens has some of New York City's best food, so I'm thrilled to see 14 local restaurants make the New York Times 100 Best Restaurants in NYC!
My Queens community is home to 38,000 veterans, more than any other New York City borough. We cannot turn our backs on the brave men & women who sacrificed everything to defend our nation.
WATCH: Tonight, I'm standing up against the major funding cuts to programs that serve our nation's veterans and military families in the bill funding veterans affairs and military construction in 2026.
That's why I introduced the RESTORE Act, which ensures that all wrongfully terminated VA employees can receive the back pay they deserve.
Across the country, 2.3 million federal workers support our veterans at the VA. We cannot take them for granted.
This year, thousands of VA employees have been unjustly fired by the Administration. Court orders have brought many of them back to work, including my constituent Luke Graziani, a veteran who works at a NYC veterans hospital. However, this back pay is not guaranteed.

President Trump sending in the National Guard over Governor Newsom's objections is a deliberate ploy to raise tensions.
This is reckless and will only put more people in harm’s way. The situation must be de-escalated immediately.
Happy Pride, Queens!
This month and every month, let’s stand with our LGBTQ+ neighbors and celebrate all that they contribute to our community. As a member of the Congressional EqualityCaucus, I am proud to continue the fight for equality, justice, & acceptance.

Sec. Lutnick claims that @nws.noaa.gov & @noaa.gov are operating at full force – but the stories we are hearing on the ground are much different.
As hurricane season arrives, he needs to address discrepancies in staffing cuts & hold himself accountable for ensuring that EVERY community is prepared.
Mr. Huerta has committed no crime. The Administration’s actions are deeply troubling and unacceptable. We cannot remain silent as Americans’ rights are threatened.
I stand with SEIU leaders and workers nationwide in demanding the immediate release of SEIU California President David Huerta, who was injured and detained during this weekend’s ICE raids.
81 years ago, allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy and turned the tides of World War II.
On the anniversary of D-Day, let us all take a moment today to honor the brave soldiers in Queens and throughout the nation who put their lives on the line to defend our freedom.
Eid Mubarak! Wishing everyone celebrating in Queens & around the world a blessed Eid al-Adha.
That isn’t government efficiency—it’s a deadly problem with an easy solution. I call on the State Department to distribute, not destroy these lifesaving supplies.
