Happy Holi all who celebrate in Queens & around the world! May the Festival of Colors bring joy, renewal, & hope for the coming year.
I'm saddened to learn of the passing of my colleague Rep. Raúl Grijalva. He worked tirelessly for the people of Arizona & our country. His legacy will remain in the halls of Congress for generations to come.
My heart is with his family, friends, & staff during this difficult time.
It was great to be back with my fellow @umich.edu alumni at the annual Congressional breakfast on Capitol Hill! #GoBlue
Combatting mail theft in Queens has been a priority of mine & I recently pushed the USPS to fix broken relay boxes in Forest Hills to stop thieves from stealing mail before it can be delivered.
If you see any damaged mailboxes in our district, give my office a call at (718) 358-MENG.
From special education to student loans, civil rights, & school safety, the U.S. Dept. of Education helps students of all ages receive the high-quality education they deserve.
Dismantling this agency will be devastating to students, teachers, & public education as a whole.
Let’s vote on the bill that keeps our government open AND safeguards essential programs like Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, & SNAP
We are ready to vote for a bipartisan funding bill that funds the government & protects communities from harmful cuts.
As a champion for equality & civil rights, the legacy that Dr. Hazel Dukes left behind will inspire generations of women, girls, & advocates across New York State.
I was proud to honor Dr. Dukes & her incredible impact on the House floor this week.
May she rest in power.
Between these cuts & others to law enforcement projects & NOAA, the government funding bill on the House floor today is a gift to billionaires at the expense of families in Queens.
Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, & SNAP are a lifeline for millions of Americans. Cutting these programs will be devastating for families.
I'm continuing to get calls from constituents sharing their stories & expressing concerns about dangerous GOP policies.
Millions of families like Jen's rely on Medicaid & Community Health Centers for the care they need. We cannot turn our backs on them.

Honored to meet with the Uniformed Fire Officers Association on Capitol Hill. Firefighters, especially those at FDNY, put their lives on the line to keep our communities safe. There is no question that Congress should support funding to make sure they have the equipment & health care they need.
The Administration is attempting to strip our TSA workers of the union protections they deserve. These hardworking officers keep our airports & our skies safe.
My @laborcaucus.bsky.social colleagues & I know union busting when we see it.

I’m concerned by reports that the Administration is considering kicking out Ukrainians who legally found refuge here in the US. Queens residents have welcomed 2,129 Ukrainians to our borough. Sending them back to a war zone is cruel & short-sighted.

Additional cuts at NOAA undermine our ability to predict weather in our communities and protect wildlife. From farms to fisheries, this is a serious threat to both our environment & our economy.
This is another attack on our justice system & our nation’s Rule of Law.
Over the last 24 hours, the administration fired or transferred another slate of attorneys & officials at the Dept. of Justice. These are career public servants that handled pardon work, bankruptcy litigation, internal ethics, & other critical issues.
Weekend Office Hours: 3/8
My team & I are hosting weekend office hours this Saturday, March 8, 10am-1pm, at my Forest Hills District Office! Stop by to ask questions & receive assistance with federal agencies like the IRS, VA, Social Security, & more.

I'd also like to send a special thanks to my guests @newyorkstateag.bsky.social, @nyscomptroller.bsky.social, AFGE, & @democracyforward.org!
Thank you to the 7,500+ New Yorkers who joined my telephone town hall last night! It was an important opportunity to hear from my constituents & answer questions about issues that matter most right now.
Whether I am at home in Queens or voting in DC, fighting for New Yorkers is my #1 priority.
