I’m relieved a judge has ordered Liam and his father released from ICE detention. America cannot be a country where children have to fear this kind of treatment at the hands of their government.

A federal judge has ordered the release of 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos and his father from the South Texas Family Residential Center in Dilley, Texas, according to a ruling obtained by CNN.

On this day in 1940, the first Social Security check was issued, launching one of the most important programs in our nation’s history. As a lifeline for millions of Americans, I’m fighting to strengthen the program so it’s there for today’s seniors and future generations alike.

Coordinated Care Services supports our local behavioral health, social and human services departments, state agencies, and community-based organizations in their mission to serve our region. Grateful to spend some time with them today and hear about their important work.
