Republicans need to do their job—protect SNAP & keep families from going hungry. I joined my Democratic colleagues in urging USDA to use every available dollar & its full legal authority to deliver SNAP benefits in November. Our neighbors shouldn’t have to pay the price for Republicans’ dysfunction.
It was great to visit Futures First Gaming in Wilmington—where esports and digital learning are opening doors for Delaware’s youth. By combining teamwork, technology, and creativity, they’re helping young people build the STEM, digital, and leadership skills needed to succeed.
Seniors & older Delawareans deserve to age with dignity & respect. The Newark Senior Center—Delaware’s first & only National Institute of Senior Centers-accredited center—reflects that every day through care, connection, & community. I’ll keep working to ensure our neighbors have the care they need.
First, Republicans voted to cut SNAP earlier this year. Now their shutdown could take food off Delaware families’ tables. They’re not fighting to lower costs—they’re making it harder for working people to live.

They may not act like it, but even Republicans know we have to take on skyrocketing health care costs.
To prove it, @mcbride.house.gov and I got together to connect Republicans with their own words about this crisis.
It's time for them to put their money where their mouths are.
2/ My bipartisan National Nursing Workforce Center Act would help strengthen our nursing workforce—which is crucial as the shutdown worsens the health care crisis and leaves families struggling to access the care they deserve.
1/ Nurses are the heart of our health care system, but cuts to Medicaid, skyrocketing premiums, and the government shutdown are making it harder for them to care for our neighbors.
2/ Every day Washington goes without a deal is another day the federal government stays closed and another day closer to skyrocketing premiums.
1/ Today, I brought together health care leaders from the Delaware Nurses Association to discuss the ongoing health care crisis—and to strategize how we can protect care for our neighbors while supporting nurses and providers.
Wishing a Happy Diwali to all who are celebrating in Delaware and across the country! May this Festival of Lights bring happiness, peace, and togetherness.

Earlier this week, we played a round of "Two Truths and a Lie" with @mcbride.house.gov and let's just say, the truth is stranger than fiction when it comes to what is happening in the House right now.
The facts speak for themselves!
Grateful to visit St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington to thank their staff, hear about their ongoing renovations, and discuss with health care providers how we can best support patients and families facing health care cuts.
2/ The center’s holistic approach will be key to helping address the Black maternal health crisis and ensuring communities have the support they need to thrive.
1/ Access to quality maternal care shouldn’t depend on your zip code, income, or background. Black Mothers in Power’s new Maternal Care Center—founded by Wilmington City Councilwoman Shané Darby—will be a one-stop shop for culturally competent reproductive, mental, and family health services.
Let’s be clear: Republicans control the White House, Senate, and House.
This shutdown is on them.
Democrats are ready to end this—and protect your health care.
Today I led a bipartisan effort calling on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid to pause cuts to Medicare’s home health payment—reductions that could limit patient access to essential in-home care across the country.
Delawareans deserve a health system that invests in care, not cuts it.
A quick update on the Republican shutdown. Bottom line: Democrats are back in D.C. demanding our Republican colleagues end this shutdown and work with us to fix the health care crisis.
2/ Their contributions, traditions, and resilience continue to shape and enrich our state of neighbors. Today, we celebrate their enduring legacy and recommit to uplifting Indigenous voices.
