To every transgender servicemember: I salute you. I thank you. I see you. I honor you. And I will not stop fighting for a country that is truly worthy of your service.
2/ I'm committed to continuing to lower costs for neighbors across our state.
1/ Big news, Delaware: My bipartisan provision to bring jobs to our state and lower energy costs passed the House!
It will lead to millions of dollars in investment in innovative technologies—developed right here in Delaware—that make data centers more environmentally sustainable.
The result? Millions more without coverage, and higher health care costs for the rest of us.
Republicans in Congress now own the health care system—so let’s call it what it is: Trumpcare.
With their disastrous budget bill, they planted a ticking time bomb right in the middle of the American health care system—and it’s set to go off in 2027.
I was proud to meet with advocates from the Delaware Coalition Against Domestic Violence recently who shared their stories of struggle and strength.
They are using their voices to push for housing protections and funding for programs and services that keep women and families safe across our state.
Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans are big mad that D.W. stood on business—so now they’re gutting funding for public broadcasting like PBS.
It’s performative bullshit. And honestly, I’d rather just watch a show on PBS.

1/ Nurses are the backbone of our health care system—& they’re burned out & stretched thin. It's why I introduced the National Nursing Workforce Center Act—bipartisan & bicameral legislation to address the national nursing workforce shortage by supporting state nursing workforce centers nationwide.
2/ If anything, the crisis persists because we don't have a clear enough picture of how humans are trafficked.
No wonder the MAGA base is now questioning this administration's commitment to combatting human trafficking globally and domestically...
1/ The State Department admits that they cut 71% of the staff at the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking—and claim that it's because monitoring the crisis of trafficking was "redundant."
I made it clear to my colleagues before we voted on Trump’s Big Ugly Bill: rural hospitals won’t just struggle under it—they’ll shut down.
No one should die because their local hospital couldn’t keep its doors open. But that’s now the reality we’re facing because of the majority party in Congress.
2/ CLASI provides free or low-cost legal help to our neighbors across Delaware—and I’m always grateful to hear about the progress they make each day, and the challenges that remain.
1/ I was excited to meet with Community Legal Aid Society (CLASI) this week for a thoughtful conversation on equality and justice.
2/ Alongside @coons.senate.gov, @bluntrochester.senate.gov, and partners across Delaware, I won’t stop working to protect the dignity and stability that food assistance provides—and to prevent families across our state from going hungry.
1/ About 37,000 Delawareans are now at risk of facing devastating food assistance cuts because of Republicans’ Big Ugly Bill—which makes it easier for billionaires to buy a private jet than for working people to put food on the table.
Grateful to all the Delawareans who stopped by our Mobile Office Hours in Lewes recently.
Whether it’s getting your Social Security benefits or tracking down your federal tax refund—we’re here to help. If you need a hand, don’t hesitate to reach out at mcbride.house.gov.
Every time a patient loses health care coverage or a rural hospital shuts down because of the Big Ugly Bill, Congressional Republicans will own it.
Every time someone—on Medicaid or private insurance—pays more or waits longer for care, Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans will own it.

“I think it's bulls---"
Democratic Congresswoman @mcbride.house.gov joins The Weeknight to break down how Republicans are framing deep cuts to the social safety net—and why she says the American people shouldn’t buy it.

Congressional Republicans will try to claim that the Big Ugly Bill helps working people, but the American people know that’s bullshit.
This was never about helping working people. It was about gutting Medicaid, slashing food assistance, and crushing small businesses while the rich get richer.
