I’m working to secure federal funding to expand this proven, community-based approach—helping reduce recidivism, improve public safety and health outcomes, and strengthen Sussex County.
Grateful to join La Red Health Center in Georgetown today to discuss their Rural Re-entry program, which provides health care and substance use disorder services to returning citizens.
3/ We had a great conversation about how we can strengthen the public-private partnership that helps them serve our neighbors.
2/ Under the incredible leadership of Bernice Edwards, FSCAA empowers underserved communities across our state through its wrap-around services, from housing support to workforce development.
1/ Grateful to visit First State Community Action Agency in Georgetown today–the first and only Community Action Agency in Delaware.
2/ It’s why I’m working to secure a federal investment to build a new, 28,000-square-foot facility so that it can expand its programming to better serve young people, their families, and our communities.
1/ Since 2001, the Georgetown Boys & Girls Club has provided vital services, support, and care for folks in Sussex County.

2/ We must continue to call for action—for commonsense gun safety laws that will help end the epidemic of gun violence in America.
1/ Three years ago, 21 lives were stolen in Uvalde—19 students and 2 educators—in a place that should have been safe: their school.
Today, we remember them. We mourn with their families and the entire Uvalde community.
But remembrance alone is not enough.
@whipkclark.bsky.social, @houlahan.house.gov, and I were in Wilmington yesterday to talk with Delawareans about these compassionate and commonsense policies. ⤵️
Why do we need to expand access to paid family and medical leave and affordable childcare? So that working people don’t have to choose between their families and their livelihoods.
2/ We also discussed how my bipartisan Equal Opportunity for All Investors Act can help advance this mission by opening doors to capital and empowering more small businesses to grow and thrive.
1/ Grateful to the Delaware Black Chamber of Commerce for strategizing with me this morning on how we can expand opportunities for small business owners and entrepreneurs here in Delaware.
That means investing in workforce development, educational and procurement opportunities, and health equity.
