Immigrants make our nation stronger.
We’ve waited too long for a real legal path to citizenship.
Last week, I met with members of @crindivisible.bsky.social to discuss conditions at Delaney Hall Detention Facility in Newark, the Trump Administration's plans to house undocumented immigrants at Joint Base McGuire Dix Lakehurst, and the challenges families face when visiting loved ones.
New Jersey was the first state to offer unemployment insurance to striking workers. Now, let's make this possible for all Americans.
Going on strike is always a last resort. I joined @ocasio-cortez.house.gov, @replsimon.bsky.social, and @schiff.senate.gov to introduce the Empowering Striking Workers Act to ensure workers on strike can still provide for their families.
On International Literacy Day we recognize that reading is the foundation of all education. It changes lives and opens doors. While Trump has cut funding for our public schools and undermined our teachers, you can count on me to keep fighting to make sure every child can read, learn, and thrive.
New Jersey is investing $11M of opioid settlement funds to expand addiction treatment, including for expecting mothers. These programs will help bring hope, healing, and long-term recovery care to families across our state.

Every time Trump goes after healthcare, it’s working families who pay the price. His cuts will raise costs and force parents to choose between care and groceries.
Trump promised to bring jobs back. Instead, manufacturing is shrinking, unemployment is rising, and the longest streak of job growth just ended. His reckless policies are driving our economy down. I am furious! You know what the best social program is Trump?! A good job! American's deserve better.
New Jersey has always led the way in national defense and innovation. With the creation of the Office of Strategic Defense Investment, we’ll harness our one-of-a-kind Jersey talent to stay at the forefront of defense technology for generations to come.

The @laborcaucus.house.gov welcomed IUPAT President Jimmy Williams, who represents 140K finishing trades workers. We talked about his fight against Trump’s anti-worker actions like halting Revolution Wind, repealing clean energy tax credits, & stripping workers of their collective bargaining rights.
From the construction site to Congress, I’ve always carried with me the lessons of Peter J. McGuire. I was honored to lay a wreath at his gravesite and introduce legislation to designate it a National Historic Landmark and honor American workers.
I just signed on to a discharge petition to force a vote on the Epstein files. Republican leadership has blocked Congress from acting because they’re afraid it will expose the truth about Trump. It's time Americans get the transparency they deserve.
Just got off the floor where I voted to stop a censure of @replamonica.bsky.social. She is a fighter for her constituents and our democracy. She will continue working for New Jersey on the Homeland Security Committee. And she is here to stay.
Trump and Republicans cut $1.1 billion from public broadcasting, shutting down the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. This hurts kids’ programs like PBS KIDS and emergency alert systems across the country. What good does this do for working families?
Congrats @booker.senate.gov on your engagement!
Reflecting on the end of WWII reminds us that freedom comes at a cost. We remember the servicemembers who fought, the families who waited, and the sacrifices that shaped our nation.
On Labor Day we honor the workers who built this nation. The @laborcaucus.house.gov is more than 120 members strong and we are fighting every day to protect workers’ rights and lift up the labor movement in Congress.
From our caucus to you, Happy Labor Day!
As students across South Jersey prepare to head back to school next week, I want to wish all students, teachers, and education staff a great start to a new year. Education opens doors and empowers the next generation. Here’s to a strong and successful year ahead!
I’m at the Peter J. McGuire memorial in my hometown of Pennsauken celebrating the “Father of Labor Day.” As we head into Labor Day weekend, we are grateful to leaders of the labor movement, like McGuire, who fought for many of the worker protections we have today.

Just before Labor Day, President Trump continued his union-busting spree, this time revoking collective bargaining rights for workers at NASA, NOAA, and more.
These civil servants perform critical work and keep us safe. They deserve a voice on the job.
