Rep. Ilhan Omar on Trump's gutter racism: "It's been met with disgust. But it's also been met with resilience and people saying, 'These are my fellow Minnesotans and I'm going to stand up for them."
The Epstein files are set to drop tomorrow. Right on cue, the Pedophile Protection Party speaker canceled votes before the deadline.
The American people deserve the entire truth.
No delays.
No cover-ups.
No redactions.
The president's creepy obsession with me is deeply unhealthy.
Trump falls back on the same tired bigotry to distract from his obvious failures.
His recycled xenophobia won’t intimidate me or silence my fight for the people of Minnesota’s 5th District.
Here is what Trump and his enablers fail to understand: Immigrants love this country deeply. We love democracy. We cherish the rule of law, the promise of due process and the idea that our diversity is a strength, not a threat.
My op-ed:
Operation Metro Surge is state-sanctioned racial profiling used as a tool of political intimidation.
But Somali Minnesotans aren’t intimidated, we’re brave and resilient, and our neighbors have our back.
We don’t cower to bullies.
No matter what words Trump throws at me, I will not let that deter my work for the people of the Fifth District.
Trump should know by now that he should never pick a fight with a Somali woman. 😉
Trump’s obsession with me is beyond weird. He needs serious help.
Since he has no economic policies to tout, he’s resorting to regurgitating bigoted lies instead.
He continues to be a national embarrassment.
It is disgusting that Trump’s hateful words of calling Somali Americans “garbage” have continued to go unchecked by members of the Republican Party.
These are US citizens he is denigrating.
We have a duty as Americans to call out his hateful rhetoric.

Trump’s xenophobic comments about Somalis in Minnesota are disgusting, hateful, and unbecoming of the President of the United States.
I’m proud to stand alongside @ilhanmn.bsky.social and the Somali community. Read her op-ed: https://www.nytimes.com/2025/12/04/opinion/ilhan-omar-somalia-trump.html

"It is a creepy obsession." Rep. Ilhan Omar responds to Trump's personal attacks. "It's actually very frightening to have that level of attention from somebody who should be focused on doing the business of the American people and not just creepily watching what one member of Congress is doing."

“The president knows he is failing, and so he is reverting to what he knows best: trying to divert attention by stoking bigotry,” Rep. Ilhan Omar writes about Trump’s recent remarks on Somali Americans.

Thank you @ilhanmn.bsky.social for making it plain.
The Somali community is vibrant and will not be intimidated by these shameful, cowardly attacks.
The president fails to realize how deeply Somali Americans love this country.
We are doctors, teachers, and elected leaders working to make our country better.
We will not let Trump intimidate or debilitate us. My op-ed:

The president’s obsession with the Somali community and me is really unhealthy and creepy. He is trying to deflect from his failures and sinking approval ratings. Sorry, Trump, we all see through your attempts to hide from your broken promises.
Minnesota doesn’t just welcome refugees, they sent one to Congress. 💪🏽
That's a wrap! 🎵 Who were your top artists this year?
His obsession with me is creepy. I hope he gets the help he desperately needs.
Mohammed Zaher Ibrahim was finally released after being unjustly imprisoned for over nine months in an Israeli prison.
My heart is filled with gratitude for every single person who spoke out and fought to bring him home.
