I had the pleasure of speaking with some incredibly talented students who are participating in Senator Martwick's Legislative Fellowship. They shared with me their ideas for legislation at the national level, and I look forward to seeing what they will accomplish in the future!
Happy Earth Day🌎
As a big fan of our national parks, I've seen how good policies protect our environment. Nearly 100 days into his second term, Trump has gutted protections for clean air and water. We must protect our planet and ourselves from future harm from Trump admin! @houseseec.bsky.social
Great to spend some time this weekend hunting for eggs with the Neighborhood Boys and Girls Club. We even met EB!
Trump is closer to Putin and Russia than he is to Zelensky and Ukraine. It's clear he's not cheering for Ukraine in this war.
Rest in peace, Pope Francis. Let us honor his memory by extending mercy and kindness to all those around us.
Once again, Pete Hegseth has proven himself unfit to lead our Defense Department. I'm calling on President Trump to remove him immediately in light of this second national security leak. #Signalgate
Happy Easter to everyone celebrating!🪺 🐰
I had a great time speaking with students at Barrington High School this week! These talented students demonstrated a great passion for civics and public service, and I know they all have bright futures ahead of them.
Mohsen Mahdawi was kidnapped by the Trump administration for exercising his First Amendment rights. ‘Disappearing’ people is a tactic by dictators—it has no place in our democracy.
Under the current Republican budget, the 86,560 people in my district on HealthChoice Illinois (aka Medicaid), could lose coverage. I'm urging Republicans to reconsider this disastrous plan. #MedicaidMatters
I just heard that Trump and RFK closed Head Start's Midwest regional office— the office responsible for Meals on Wheels and preschool for over 28,000 children in Illinois alone.
If they're targeting senior citizens and kids, who won't they attack?
My heart goes out to the victims and their families at Florida State University. No one should ever fear for their safety at work or school.
Shootings like these are preventable—we must stop gun violence to prevent them.
This a gross miscarriage of justice. Mohsen Madawi must be brought home.

Two weeks ago, DHS erroneously sent a letter to Ukrainians living in the U.S. legally telling them that they must leave the country. This was a terrifying shock to so many families. Along with @quigley.house.gov and 37 of our colleagues, we’re demanding answers.. More: menendez.house.gov/u4uletter
The Trump administration mistakenly sent emails to Ukrainian refugees with temporary legal status, urging them to leave immediately or "the federal government will find you."
This behavior is unacceptable — @menendez.house.gov and I led a letter condemning it.
Once again, Donald Trump has shown he only cares about absolute power. Just this week, he froze almost $800 million in already-approved funds for research at Northwestern — in retaliation for students exercising their First Amendment rights.
When an autocrat tells you he is going to act like an autocrat, you oughta believe him.
On today's Social Security Day of Action, I want to shout the 109,914 Americans in my district who receive Social Security. These hard-earned benefits help people afford housing, food, and other bare necessities—and I'm going to fight to keep Elon Musk's #HandsOff them.
Happy Vaisakhi! Wishing all a joyful and abundant celebration🌾
Spring means fresh fruits and vegetables! Always a pleasure seeing friends and neighbors at the Lincoln Park farmers' market.

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
