Arizona drivers have made smart, clean choices for years—investing in electric and hybrid cars. That’s why I’m working with @repmarkdesaulnier.bsky.social to extend the HOV lane exemption that lets you use the carpool lane solo if you drive a hybrid, electric, or low-emission vehicle.
🚨 This ruling is a major win for public education & equity in Arizona—where our schools have been underfunded for decades. Our kids deserve the same opportunities, no matter their ZIP code. Thanks to the Arizona Center for Law in the Public Interest & all the advocates leading the charge.
It's been 90 years since our government committed to the idea that if Americans work hard, they shouldn't fall into poverty in retirement. But now, Republicans are gambling with Arizonan's hard-earned retirements. We cannot allow them to dismantle social security and jeopardize our futures.
Even Trump's most staunch supporters know his immigration crack-down has gone too far. They thought he was going after the "worst of the worst" but instead DHS is targeting hardworking people like Kelly Yu, who have been here for decades raising a family and contributing to Arizona.
My team and I toured the ASU Biodesign Institute to see firsthand the cutting-edge research happening right here in Arizona. From breakthroughs in biotech to a first-of-its-kind X-ray laser, ASU is showing us what the future will look like and how critical federal investments are for innovation.
Sending DEA agents to Washington DC (where crime is at a 30-year low) is not just wasteful—it’s dangerous. Trump is diverting critical resources away from the fight against fentanyl and other deadly drugs devastating Arizona and communities nationwide.
🏠 Housing costs shouldn’t stand in the way of education. Excited to see Maricopa Community Colleges partnering with Save The Family to create affordable housing and support for single parents pursuing their education in our community.
My staff and I were honored to join A New Leaf today to help out serving meals at the East Valley Men's Center. The work they're doing is incredible and I won't stop fighting in Congress to support these community advocates and protect them from funding cuts.
This year, I submitted 15 projects from #AZ04 for federal funding—designed by our community, for our community. We worked closely with local leaders & orgs to identify projects that will make a real difference—and now, I'm fighting to get that funding across the finish line. Check out highlight #1!
Organized Retail Crime is more than just shoplifting — it’s a large-scale criminal operation that puts employees at risk and costs businesses billions of dollars. I’m backing the bipartisan Combating Organized Retail Crime Act to hold these criminals responsible.
Without action from Congress, ACA premiums are set to spike by an average of $708/year per enrollee—impacting 222K people in Maricopa County alone. Under the GOP’s "budget bill," thousands could lose coverage altogether. This isn't just about cost—it's a matter of life or death.
Arizona’s drought is the biggest threat to our economy—and to our ability to keep growing and attracting investment. This week, we announced $179 million in funding for a new water purification facility that will improve our economy & ensure clean water for all.
To solve Arizona's water crisis, we need bold, long-term solutions—not just quick fixes. Phoenix is leading by example—I'm proud to stand with @mayorgallego.bsky.social and Vice Mayor O’Brien as we invest in advanced water purification and maximizing every drop.
The last thing Arizona families need right now is pricier monthly utility bills. But Trump's budget bill is going to drive costs even higher—gutting low-cost wind and solar power projects in Arizona and slashing energy assistance.
Just met with Tempe small business owners to hear directly about the challenges they're facing and how I can continue to champion entrepreneurs in Washington. Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and Congress must do more to support them, including rolling back harmful tariffs.
