May is Jewish American Heritage Month—a time to honor the deep legacy and heritage of Jewish Americans. Jewish communities are a part of the fabric of our culture and date back over centuries. This month, we celebrate this history and recommit to fighting hate in all its forms, now and always.
Last summer, NM faced devastating wildfires and flooding. Our communities are still rebuilding. We're already facing another fire season, and federal firefighters and temporary workers haven’t been hired. The Trump admin’s cuts to the Forest Service could devastate our communities.
The GOP wants to hand out $7T in tax breaks to billionaires while taking food from our kids. Cutting SNAP isn’t about “balancing the budget” — it’s a cruel agenda that will impact millions of children, seniors, and families. That’s why these cuts are not only unconscionable, they’re disgusting.
A free press isn’t optional, it’s integral to our democracy. Journalists uncover the truth, expose corruption, and give a voice to the voiceless. Attacks on the press are on the rise and we must protect them, because when we defend them, we defend democracy. #WorldPressFreedomDay
Happy Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month! #AANHPI communities are woven into the fabric of our cultures and have shaped every corner across NM. Today, let’s not just celebrate this heritage but recommit to ensuring every community is seen, heard, and represented.
If you're breaking the law, lining your own pockets, and calling it "public service" — the Amendment I introduced in the Oversight Committee has your name on it. No more taxpayer-funded grift. Not for Trump. Not for Elon. Not for anyone. The GOP once again blocked it.
The GOP is running from accountability *AGAIN.* They changed House Rules so no one can introduce Resolutions of Inquiry—including quashing ours in Oversight demanding answers on Musk and DOGE’s access of Americans’data. They’re “delaying” all resolutions until Sept. 30! What are they hiding from?
My colleagues across the aisle just called our fight to protect Social Security “garbage.” I’m sorry—WHAT!?!?   Seniors, veterans, children, & people with disabilities are not “garbage.” We don’t work for billionaires. We work for the people. And, we will continue to fight like hell for them.
This International Workers’ Day, we honor the workers who power our communities—from our educators and healthcare workers to farmworkers and tradespeople. In NM, our work is rooted in community and I’ll keep fighting for unions, labor protections and to ensure that everyone has a seat at the table.
Nearly 2/3 of Americans oppose what DOGE and the GOP are trying to do to dismantle Social Security, Medicaid, & vital programs. To our seniors, people living with disabilities, working moms, kids, and folks just struggling to get by—know that we see you, we hear you, & we are fighting for you!
Trump campaigned on the promise of supporting working people. But in his first 100 days, he stripped bargaining rights from more than 1mil federal workers, rolled back pro-worker policies, & crippled agencies that protect workers. This is a direct attack on working Americans. We're fighting back.
ICYMI: Sen. Warren & I introduced the SGE Ethics Enforcement & Reform Act to ensure Special Government Employees like Elon Musk are held accountable.   Americans demand transparency, good government, and to know who is working for them and not against them. abcnews.go.com/Politics/dem...
This is what democracy looks like!  We only have one rule at our town halls: that we all be respectful of each other and our diverse points of view. Thank you to everyone who joined us the last several weeks. We appreciate each and every one of you! www.abqjournal.com/news/article...
