Stay safe in these dangerous conditions, West Michigan! Keep an eye on traffic conditions, school closures, and local alerts for your area. www.woodtv.com/news/kent-co...
It is the honor of my lifetime to stand in this moment of our our nation’s history, no matter which political party is in power, and to be your voice in Washington. No matter what comes our way, I’m determined to fight for West Michiganders day in and day out. That’s what they sent me here to do.
As we transition to our next Presidential administration, I encourage you all to dive deeper into the history of this important ceremony — the history nerd in me finds things like this fascinating!

Since 1789, Presidential Inaugurations have signified our nation's commitment to democracy and peaceful transfers of power. The seriousness of this moment is not lost on me, and as your Congresswoman, West Michigan, I feel reverence for these historic traditions.🧵
When I signed my oath of office for my second term, I was thinking of all of you and the work that lies ahead for our community, West Michigan. I’ve already hit the ground running with legislation, committee work, district visits, and more. Team Scholten isn't slowing down!
With tax season just around the corner, it's important to know your options for filing – some are even FREE!

Home Repair Services of Kent County is helping construct a brighter future for local homeowners in need. I was happy to roll up my sleeves and help build cabinets to be installed in nearby homes—just a small contribution to the empowering work Home Repair Services does every day.
ICYMI: The Trump administration announced today that they will not be holding a public inauguration service.
To any West Michigander in D.C., don’t hesitate to reach out to our office if there’s any way we can help you feel welcome on your trip. More below. 👇
My legislative staffer who led the charge, Hannah, and I got official copies of my bill President Biden signed to rename the Comstock Park Post Office in honor of Captain Nava. His legacy will be solidified in our community for generations.
Looking forward to the renaming ceremony soon.
As a mom of two school-aged boys, Safe Routes to Schools is close to my heart—and it's celebrating 20 years in action!
At this week's @transportdems.bsky.social hearing, I emphasized the need to expand this program and spur community connectivity to schools and other essential destinations.
We need to do everything we can to smooth our transition to a green economy, support domestic energy production, and support our country’s agricultural communities.
That’s why Rep. Valadao and I introduced the Agriculture Catalyzing Environmental Stewardship Act. Read more here! 👇
Had a very productive first meeting with Grand Rapids Mayor David LaGrand. We’re determined to work in partnership to deliver for Grand Rapidians, expand opportunities for local businesses, and help our growing city continue to thrive.
Excited to get to work!
Let the state hear you roar, West Michigan! I know we have some artists who would excel at drawing our beloved @Lions logo. Submit your drawing at forms.leo.state.mi.us/govoffice/su.... #OnePride
Since day 1 of this devastating conflict, I've called for humanitarianism and encouraged negotiating parties to work toward a cease-fire deal.
I pray that hostages are finally reunited with their loved ones and will continue working to support the innocent people devastated by this war.
Today we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who was born on this day in 1929. While his life was tragically cut short, his legacy has lived on for generations. It is our duty to continue following in his footsteps in our work toward freedom and justice for all.
Want to thank a veteran this Valentine's Day? Send in a valentine to our Grand Rapids office by February 7th and we'll deliver them on our Valentine’s Day visit to our veterans!
There's nothing quite like a handwritten note to share our heartfelt gratitude with those who served our country.
I'm so excited to get back to work on @transportdems.bsky.social and the House Small Business Committee! From improving our infrastructure to expanding opportunities for local entrepreneurs, I'm eager to keep delivering for West Michiganders on my two committee assignments in the 119th Congress.
As a mom, especially one who saw the horror unleashed on our young athletes by Larry Nassar here in Michigan, I can't stand behind something that puts our kids' privacy and safety at risk. My vote was for our children.
Today I voted NO on H.R. 28. I’m all for safety & fairness in sports, but this is a reactionary bill that endangers children.
This bill opens the door to routine genital exams on kids— kids could be required to “prove their gender” via invasive inspections by unfamiliar adults.
