Congratulations to MAVA on another successful La Cosecha Grand Tasting event! For the last 13 years, this event has not only brought Mexican-American wineries together for a grand tasting, but has also been a vibrant celebration of Latino culture and our community.
It's clear: federal enforcement can't be selective when public safety is at stake. As Chair of the House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, I will continue to fight back against policies that undermine community safety and encourage open-carry loopholes.
Dangerous hypocrisy on full display.
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro, while touting massive weapon seizures and a ‘crime crackdown’ in D.C., has abruptly stopped prosecuting open carry of rifles and shotguns. Yet she continues to brag about taking illegal guns off the streets.
Because of the One Big Ugly Bill, St. Helena Unified had to scrap plans for a solar project. Translation: higher costs for schools, less clean energy for kids’ futures. Ugly indeed.
Today, I continue to be thankful for the way our community came together to help our neighbors. The new Quake Mosaic in the Rail Arts District depicts our community’s strength.
Today marks the 11th anniversary of the tragic 2014 Napa Earthquake that killed one resident, injured hundreds more, and damaged homes and businesses.

Please remain vigilant and I will continue to work to ensure our community has every available federal resource to combat wildfires.
Thank you to Napa Firewise Foundation, our fire safe councils, volunteers, and community partners for their pre-fire preventive measures that are making a difference in suppressing this fire.
Joined CalFire, the Napa County Fire Department, and our firefighting crews for this morning’s operational briefing on the #PickettFire. We are at 11 percent containment due to their experienced leadership and the extraordinary effort of our crews.
Honored to recognize Lisette Estrella-Henderson as she retires after 40 years of dedicated service to public education in our district! Lisette, thanks for your leadership as Solano County Superintendent of Schools.

Thank you to the fire safe councils, volunteers, and community organizations who took action to implement preventive plans that are helping to keep these fires from being much worse. I will do all I can to ensure that our community has every available federal resource needed to combat wildfires.
Thank you so much to the courageous firefighting crews who are working around the clock to suppress the #PickettFire! They are well organized and are making good progress to contain this fire.
No one should go hungry in our country. Sat down with Redwood Empire Food Bank CEO Allison Goodwin and NorCal Public Media’s Michelle Marques to talk about the fantastic work they do and the threats the President poses to food access in our community.
