Rumeysa was grabbed off the street by plain-clothes ICE agents and shipped to a detention center over 1,300 miles away from her school. She had a valid student visa. She hasn't been charged with a crime. It's an outrage – and it's not an isolated incident as Trump continues to attack immigrants.
Trump just imposed one of the largest tax hikes in U.S. history. These tariffs will cost the average family nearly $4,000 *per year.* This is a completely self-inflicted economic disaster, brought to you by the Trump Administration.
This is a big win for working families. I was one of the 200+ Members of Congress who filed a brief in this lawsuit to save the CFPB – the only agency dedicated to protecting consumers from financial fraud and predatory lenders. We'll keep the pressure on.
🗓️ Reminder: I’m holding a virtual Know Your Rights workshop TOMORROW at 4 pm PST with Rep. Sara Jacobs and special guest Jewish Family Service. To join us, RSVP here: ushr.zoomgov.com/webinar/regi...
It’s important for everyone in our communities to know their rights — regardless of immigration status. Join me on Tuesday, April 1 at 4 pm PST for a virtual Know Your Rights workshop to stay informed. RSVP here: ushr.zoomgov.com/webinar/regi...
César Chávez was a tireless labor and civil rights champion who dedicated his life to uplifting farmworkers and immigrant communities. Today and every day, we honor his legacy and continue the fight for fairness, justice, and dignity for all. #CésarChávezDay
New reporting confirms it: Trump and Elon Musk are breaking Social Security. This isn't "government efficiency" it's sabotage. We'll keep fighting back against these attacks. HANDS OFF Social Security!!
Trump's most senior officials were texting actual war plans in a group chat - and they didn't even know who all the numbers were! How reckless and stupid can you be? Everyone involved in this fiasco should resign or be fired immediately.
Let’s be clear: this is unlawful and we’ll see the Administration in court. But in the meantime, these continued attacks on the Department of Education will lay off teachers, hurt kids with disabilities, and remove protections for student loan borrowers. We’ll fight this every step of the way.
President Trump has signed an executive order to begin dismantling the US Department of Education, aiming to fulfill a campaign promise but raising new questions cnn.it/4hqBh2I
Trump and Republicans in Congress are pushing an $880 BILLION cut to Medicaid to give billionaires a tax break. In what world is it okay to take from children, seniors, and working families to give to the ultra-wealthy?
Senate Democrats, vote NO on the Republicans’ disastrous spending bill. Do not give Elon Musk and Trump more unchecked power and a slush fund to hurt seniors, veterans, working families, and immigrant communities. This is a moment to FIGHT BACK, not roll over.
A 10-year-old U.S. citizen who is recovering from brain cancer was just deported. Her family was taking her to an emergency medical checkup when they were detained. This family's story is heartbreaking. This is what Trump's anti-immigrant agenda looks like in reality.
