That is forcing many hospitals and nursing homes to eliminate services or close outright across the country. It means millions of families will soon lose healthcare and the ones that still have it will likely have to travel farther to get it.
Today, I was at Samaritan Clinic in Albany and at the Woodruff Park Veterans Memorial in Columbus with healthcare providers and advocates. The Big Ugly Bill that the President signed into law in July gutted Medicare, Medicaid, and ACA healthcare affordability.
In the coming days, Georgians will be slammed with skyrocketing healthcare insurance premiums. Congress needs to act now to help save affordable healthcare for millions of Georgians.

I stand with students with disabilities and their families. Speaker Johnson should stop preventing the U.S. House of Representatives from coming into session and voting so that Congress can...
After firing about half of the Department of Education’s workforce earlier this year, President Trump is laying off even more staff under the cover of the government shutdown. This makes it increasingly difficult to enforce special education and civil rights laws that serve and protect our children.
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) was passed into law 50 years ago to help ensure that every child in every ZIP code could receive a quality, affordable education that helps prepare them for life. But rising costs & cuts to federal education programs are jeopardizing that vision
I stand with Georgians against efforts to strip away their lifesaving healthcare. With healthcare premiums set to skyrocket in the days ahead because of the Big Ugly Bill, millions of Americans need Congress to act now.

(2/2) A glimmer of hope now exists that all hostages taken will be released & an end to this devastating war will be negotiated. America stands ready to help both the Israelis & Palestinians build a future together based on shared values of security, economic opportunity, freedom, & mutual respect.
(1/2) As the Jewish community gathers around the world to celebrate the holiday of Sukkot, we pause to remember the nearly 1,200 Israelis who were killed 2 years ago today when the terrorist group Hamas launched its savage attack.

Unfortunately, Albany State U & other HBCUs were once again targeted with violent threats this month. I will work with my colleagues to ensure these institutions have the resources they need to keep teachers, students, & their communities safe.
America’s teaching & research universities help drive innovation, boost local economies, & keep our country at the forefront of industry. Last week, I met with Albany State University President Dr. Scott to discuss how Congress can remain a reliable partner in its mission.

Shana Tova (Happy New Year) to my Jewish friends this Rosh Hashanah.
Georgia’s ports are crucial to transporting goods into and out of the state, which grows our businesses and Georgia’s economy.
This effort is a long-term investment in securing Georgia’s role as a leading hub for shipping along the East Coast and is expected to generate thousands of jobs in many industries, including logistics, transportation, and manufacturing.
Last week, I met with the Georgia Ports Authority Board and Leadership to discuss how Georgia’s port expansion initiatives are progressing, including next steps for increasing the Savannah Harbor’s capacity.
