Becca Balint

Rebecca A. Balint is an American politician who is a member of the United States House of Representatives from Vermont's at-large congressional district as a member of the Democratic Party. She served as a member of the Vermont Senate from Windham County from 2015 to 2023, as majority leader from 2017 to 2021, and as president pro tempore from 2021 to 2023.

Right-wing extremism and dangerous rhetoric is able to spread quickly online in part because we don't have consensus on reality. Conspiracy theorists looking to undermine democracy thrive off of this. And this only stands to get worse as platforms shirk their responsibility.

Well it's not news to anyone that Vermonters are struggling to afford anything after paying for their home, health care, and groceries. This year I'll be reupping my legislation that would build more housing, lower rent, and strengthen pathways to homeownership. Change is possible.

Trump thinks rules and ethics don't apply to him so this is no surprise. He has corrupted the Supreme Court to clear his rap sheet. Now would be a great time for Congress to take up the SCERT Act to enforce a code of conduct for Supreme Court justices.
