As Congressional Democrats draft legislation to uphold the rule of law, protect Americans’ private information, and prevent unaccountable billionaires from defunding the federal government, we will continue to stand with the people and push back against this extremism.
The power belongs to the people—not unelected billionaires! As President Trump enables Elon Musk to illegally seize federal agencies and access private information, I joined lawmakers, federal workers, veterans, and law-abiding Americans to demand an end to this lawlessness.
That’s why I’m joining dozens of @housedemocrats.bsky.social in demanding the President and the Trump Administration rescind the executive order levying a 25% blanket tariff on Canadian imports—which would raise costs on everyday goods for American families. cleaver.house.gov/media-center...
Missouri sells more goods to Canada than to its next 5 largest foreign markets combined. While I’m pleased the President has already backed down and paused his tariffs on Canada, it’s imperative for #MO05 businesses and workers that he ends his childish spat with our ally for good.
On World Cancer Day, as we remember the lives lost to this deadly disease, let us honor their memory by investing in cancer prevention, research, and care. Together, we will find the cure to defeat this vicious disease and save lives.
With more than 40,000 federal workers in #MO05 and 80,000 across the region, I know many of our neighbors are concerned about the Trump Administration’s attempt to purge civil servants. As my office seeks clarification on these illegal efforts, find some helpful resources here:
Black history is American history—and it always will be! As we honor and recognize the extraordinary achievements of Black Americans in every part of American life and culture, let us continue fighting for a more just and equitable future for ALL!
Manufacturing a crisis, causing economic carnage, and then claiming credit for ending the unnecessary crisis is the Trump playbook. Rather than threatening our allies like a bully—which will only push them toward China or the EU—the President should work with them like an adult!
Allowing an unelected billionaire to access sensitive information, including Americans' Social Security numbers & banking information, is a recipe for disaster. This is another power grab by the richest man in the world—and it can’t be allowed to continue. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/01/u...
Tonight, President Trump plans to enact tariffs on two of our allies and largest trading partners—which will result in higher costs for American families across the country. I urge him to reconsider before the economic carnage damages our communities.
The White House says that President Trump would impose a 25% tariff on goods coming to the U.S. from Canada and Mexico and a 10% tariff on those from China on Saturday, a move that could drive up prices for products coming into the U.S.
85 years ago, the first #SocialSecurity check was issued, providing a lifeline and economic security to millions of American families. As a lifelong supporter, I’ll continue fighting to defend and expand these benefits that Americans have earned through a lifetime of hard work!
Thankful to Governor Kehoe for promising $40 million to support 2026 World Cup operations in Kansas City. Now, it’s time for Congress to join the effort and provide funding that will ensure a safe, secure, and successful tournament nationwide. www.kshb.com/sports/world...
As victims are still being recovered from America’s worst aviation disaster in over a decade, President Trump is politicizing the tragedy that happened under his watch, while making up racist lies and undermining the investigation. It’s divisive, dangerous, and appalling.
COLLINS: We don't even yet know the names of the people killed and you're blaming Dems and DEI policies. Don't you think you're getting ahead of the investigation? TRUMP: No, I don't think so C: Does it comfort their families to hearing you blaming DEI? R: That's not a very smart question
I’m heartbroken by the horrific mid-air collision near Reagan National Airport last night. As first responders continue recovery efforts, my prayers are with the victims, their families, and the communities that will be devastated by this tragedy.
There were no survivors after a commercial jet carrying 64 people and an Army helicopter carrying three U.S. service members collided in midair on Wednesday night, officials said. Both aircraft crashed into the Potomac River near Washington, D.C. Follow live: nyti.ms/3WHSLQC

The American people are sick and tired of billionaires bending policies in ways that will further enrich themselves at the expense of workers and communities across the country. Instead of taking them on, President Trump is letting them run the show. www.nytimes.com/2025/01/29/u...
