Reports of Iranian missiles launched toward American troops in the Middle East are exactly why President Trump’s unilateral decision to attack Iran without Congressional authorization is so dangerous. It’s also unconstitutional.   @jahimes.bsky.social breaks down the latest in the conflict.
As the Trump administration slashes services at Social Security, they're making it harder for seniors to access their benefits. Now they are trying to cover their tracks. In Congress, I'll continue to demand answers from this administration and protect this earned benefit for millions of Americans.
Social Security has stopped publicly reporting its processing times for benefits, the 1-800 number’s current call wait time and numerous other performance metrics, which customers and advocates have used to track the agency’s struggling customer service programs.
What has been needed and is still needed in this situation is diplomacy and de-escalation. The Republican majorities in the House and Senate must allow immediate votes on exercising our constitutional authority to stop any more unchecked, rash military actions and prevent another endless war. (2/2)
Even if he had obtained the required legal authority from Congress, President Trump's reckless military action against Iran would still be a bad idea. The president's actions last night only put American lives, at home and abroad, at greater risk. (1/2)
June is #MensHealthMonth. This month and every month, let's keep working to better men's health outcomes! This includes protecting and expanding critical programs like Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act, rather than trying to tear them down.
Families shouldn’t sacrifice their health care so billionaires can walk away with big tax handouts. Americans see what this bill means for them — and that’s why most of them are rejecting it. www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/...
Not on Medicaid? Here’s how the GOP's budget cuts would still affect you: From hospitals and ERs to nursing homes and family caregivers to public health programs and industry jobs, as Robert I. Field writes, the "ripple effects of shrinking Medicaid would be felt by everyone sooner or later."
Trump and Republicans' budget provides even more tax cuts for their billionaire donors and hard-working Americans will be paying for it – up to $1,600 a year! Rather than access to affordable health care, your #TrumpTax will fund mansions, yachts & private jets.
I still remember the devastating impact of the Hahnemann Hospital closure in Philly. Under the GOP’s #ReverseRobinHood budget, more urban AND rural hospitals would be at risk of closure- hurting all of PA. I'm saying #NoMoreHahnemanns and fighting these disastrous Medicaid cuts in Congress!
Ed Markey Tweet: “Pennsylvania’s rural hospitals at risk:

UPMC Jameson
UPMC Northwest Hospital
UPMC Kane
UPMC Horizon Hospital
Highlands Hospital”
Ten years ago, nine lives were stolen from us in a hate-filled, racially motivated act of gun violence at Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, SC. Let us honor their memory with action and continue fighting to close the "Charleston Loophole" that enabled the gunman to commit this horrific act.
Harry Enten on Trump's bill: "The amount of disapproval for this bill -- holy cow, my goodness gracious! We're talking about 29 points underwater ... we're talking about a negative 41 net favorability rating among independents. You rarely ever see proposed pieces of legislation as unpopular"
As a member of the Congressional Caucus on Foster Youth, I was pleased to host Elizabeth for Foster Youth Shadow Day! In Congress, I’m committed to ensuring foster youth voices are uplifted and heard, especially as we work to better the foster care system.
