I’m so grateful I could join their cause and donate a few items ahead of a busy week in Washington. It’s their dedication that gives me hope and reminds us that the way we get through these difficult days is through more participation – not less.

For our neighbors who are struggling to get by, the team at Women’s Giving Circle is helping our most vulnerable in Howard County access menstrual products and other much-needed resources on their hardest days.
I might not have gotten the memo to wear pink, but I had an incredible time joining the Women’s Giving Circle for their Big Give 2026 Event!
I pushed Secretary Burgum for answers because the American people deserve transparency and accountability. While I didn’t get a clear answer, you can take a look at what he had to say above ⬆️
Yet, the Trump Administration recently changed this process to require Secretary-level approval of all grants over $50,000, meaning the Secretary would need to approve a grant every ten minutes every day until the end of the calendar year to get this critical funding out the door.
This is micromanagement at its worst. One of the most important roles of the Department of the Interior is to issue grants for communities across the country – communities represented by Democrats and Republicans alike.
⚓ Congratulations to the Class of 2029 for conquering the climb! As you begin the next steps of your journey, remember the lessons learned from today: with resilience and teamwork, you can accomplish anything. #GoNavy!
Since 1962, Naval Academy plebes have been challenged to rely solely on teamwork to climb the 21-foot Herndon Monument – while it's covered in nearly 200 pounds of vegetable shortening – and replace the Dixie Cup up top with an upperclassman’s cover to finish their plebe year and become midshipmen.
They’re also learning about conservation, so we talked about the work we can do together to get invasive blue catfish out of the Bay, clean up our parks, and increase shade for playgrounds and public areas. 🌳
It’s never too early to start learning about civic participation & protecting the environment! As part of earning their “My Community” badge, I spoke with the incredible & curious Webelos from Pack 617 about my work in Congress & the importance of participating in this great democratic experiment.
June 23rd will be here before you know it, so make a plan to make your voice heard!

Congress must act to stop this war and pass commonsense policies that will help families make ends meet.
President Trump’s unconstitutional and unjustified war in Iran is exacerbating the affordability crisis. Whether it's groceries, gas, or utilities, costs are skyrocketing – and Maryland families are the ones paying the price.
At last week’s BWI Business Partnership Breakfast, I shared what we’re doing to bring the federal investments needed to ensure the safety and security of worldwide travelers and our airport workers.
BWI is such a crucial part of #MD03, the state of Maryland, and our nation – supporting our economy and connecting tens of thousands of people to the places they need to go each and every day.
Our team got to work, and within days were able to swiftly resolve this issue for him and his family. Whatever the issue may be, if you think we can be of assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out at (410) 832-8890 or check out the link below for more information on casework assistance.
To date, #TeamElfreth has closed 2,053 constituent cases – that’s 2,053 neighbors we’ve been able to help with federal agency issues from Social Security to the VA to the IRS and more! One of those neighbors, Bill from Elkridge, had problems receiving his hard-earned pension from OPM.
He reminded us all of the unique roles we play in our community - and our obligation to each other and future generations to live with purpose and productivity. Thank you, Asbury, for letting me worship with you this morning!
Such a beautiful way to start my Sunday: joining my friend Ms. Joy Walker and the Asbury United Methodist community for worship and to hear the good word from Pastor Michael Parker!
