The name was never the problem. The problem is that two American citizens have been killed, countless more have had their rights violated, and agents terrorize our communities while Trump blocks oversight or accountability. Americans want top to bottom reform, not a rebranding.
As a member of the Committee on Science and Technology, I am working to bring critical resources to our scientific community so that American can continue to be a world leader in space exploration and crucial scientific research. (2/2)
While the crew of Artemis II returned from their historic visit to space, I had the opportunity to tour the Carnegie Observatory, which is the birthplace of much of our understanding of our universe. (1/2)
Gutting the National Science Board is another Trump move that will stifle the discoveries which benefit all Americans. I sit on the House Committee on Science, Space & Technology because I know how scientific research improves our lives. (1/2)
In Congress, I’m working to complement our State partners with a national film tax credit that will be a crucial multiplier to the filming incentives offered in California. (2/2)
I’m working in Congress to bring down the cost of transit, and to bring it to communities faster!
The permitting bill was introduced by @titus.house.gov (D-NV) and co-sponsored by fellow members of the House T&I Committee Reps. Rob Bresnahan (R-PA) and @friedman.house.gov (D-CA). It would speed up transit and rail projects. aptapassengertransport.com/apta-support... @transportdems.bsky.social
I'm proud to represent a district rich with the cultural contributions of all the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities that call it home. That includes Thai Town, a vibrant part of Los Angeles, and where pad thai world record history was made just last weekend!
I toured the shining light in Hollywood that is Being Alive LA, an organization working tirelessly to combat HIV stigma and provide care for our friends and neighbors living with HIV/AIDS. They’ve been at this for 40 years, and I’m proud to support their efforts in caring for our neighbors.
Great to see this project get started! Once finished, commuters including many in my district will see their transit times cut down by 30 to 40%. In Congress, I’m laser focused on expanding access to transit and keeping commuters safe as they get from Point A to Point B.
I'm working with colleagues in Congress to fight back. We will use every tool we have to stop this administration from weaponizing federal agencies to silence critics. The First Amendment and a free press aren't negotiable.
And this isn't just a threat at Disney, it's a direct message to every newsroom in America: air content we don't like, and we'll come after your licenses. Report critically on this administration and your entire business could vanish overnight.
This is the kind of move we condemn when it happens in other countries. It's happening here now. One FCC Commissioner called this "the most egregious action this FCC has taken in violation of the First Amendment to date."
I have a lot of thoughts about the Trump Administration forcing Disney/ABC to renew its broadcast licenses early. It is blatant government retaliation against a network that airs critical voices. 🧵
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Everyone can play a role in preventing child abuse by recognizing the signs of abuse and supporting children and families that have survived violence. Go to childwelfare.gov to learn more and access trusted resources.
The White House budget director won't tell us how much this war is costing American taxpayers, but we can all see it, every day. It’s costing you higher prices at the grocery store & at the gas pump, because this administration expects Americans to scrape by and sacrifice for Trump’s war of choice.
Had a great time speaking to the inspiring young leaders of the Armenian Assembly of America! They’re in town for their annual Advocacy Summit, and we connected about my work championing Armenian issues and I learned more about their goals for the future.
