Because I can’t get the family discount as a business traveller no matter how early I book. The fee means that if I travel with a novel group of people, I don’t get the family railcard for that one trip
Your family trips are likely booked in advance, on non peak trains, and are price sensitive, all of which make you useful people to get in to fill up otherwise empty trains
The third largest party in the commons has lots of ability to mouth off and very little power to act so I think it’s useful to look at whether their big talk matches their behaviour when they actually have the ability to do something
