Today, I voted against the motion to table @algreen.house.gov’s impeachment resolution—because our Constitution is clear: war powers belong to Congress. We must not ignore Congress’s role in declaring war.

Cuts to Maryland’s federal workforce threaten families, services, and our state’s entire economic foundation. With nearly 160,000 federal jobs & 10,000 probationary roles at risk, these actions would devastate communities and cripple essential programs. Marylanders deserve security—not uncertainty.
During the Appropriations hearing with AG Pam Bondi, I stood with Moms Demand Action to oppose the Trump administration’s cuts to gun‑inspector roles—because when inspections fail, our children's safety is at risk. Thank you @wusa9.com.web.brid.gy for capturing our united effort.
Three years post-Roe v. Wade, we fight harder than ever. People—not politicians—should have the freedom to make their own health care decisions. @reprocaucus.bsky.social and @housedemocrats.bsky.social are for every American’s right to reproductive freedom & abortion access, wherever they live.
Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of continuing Juneteenth celebrations and attending community events with folks from my district. Check out who I ran into below.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, our Second Annual Gun Violence Summit is postponed. Bringing together survivors, advocates, legal experts, and community leaders to drive meaningful action towards gun violence prevention. Stay tuned for updates on the rescheduled date and location.
Hundreds of Black leaders, activists, artists, & community members have gathered in Baltimore for the State of the People Tour, kicking off with the Juneteenth National Assembly. This ongoing movement is more than a celebration, it’s a call to action rooted in healing, justice, & collective power.
I was truly honored to join the inauguration ceremony welcoming Prince George’s County’s new County Executive, Aisha Braveboy. I look forward to continued collaboration and working hand in hand to serve the residents of Prince George’s County. Congratulations!
Today we honor #Juneteenth—a powerful reminder of strength, resilience, and the ongoing fight for justice. Today and every day we must work to ensure America lives up to its promise of equality for all.
988 is a lifeline & trusted resource for those in crisis, especially LGBTQ+ youth. But Trump’s cuts threaten this lifesaving hotline. Starting July 17, cuts to 988 counselors for LGBTQ+ youth could mean up to 30% of crisis calls going unanswered.
This is your reminder to join me for the 2nd Annual Gun Violence Summit on Saturday, June 28, as we bring together national and local leaders working to save lives and support survivors.

I enjoyed volunteering with local public officials at The Bowie Food Pantry. We discussed food insecurity in the district, across our nation and ways to continue to support food assistant programs like the food pantry. The pantry provides food assistance to qualifying residents.
Through the Litigation & Rapid Response Task Force,
@housedemocrats.bsky.social have been pushing back against the Trump administration’s unlawful & discriminatory decision to cancel over $1 billion in NIH research grants. Today, we filed an amicus brief challenging these cuts.
We are only a few weeks away from the application deadline for our Youth Advisory Board applications. Applications close on August 1st.

This is outrageous. Denying veterans care because they’re Democrats or unmarried isn’t just unethical—it’s un-American. Our veterans put their lives on the line for this country. They deserve respect and care, not political loyalty tests.
This past weekend, I had the privilege of attending the graduation ceremony of UOE Local 99’s Apprenticeship Program. The impressive Stationary Engineers that we celebrated will contribute significantly to our state's workforce and economy.
I had the honor of joining the vibrant community of Brentwood, Maryland, for their annual Brentwood Day celebration. I enjoyed celebrating the rich culture that makes our community unique. Thank you to Mayor Rocio Treminio-Lopez and the town of Brentwood, CASA MD & others for showing up.
This Father's Day, I had the honor of attending the City of Laurel's 100th Father's Day Celebration—a remarkable milestone for our community. As we celebrated a century of honoring fathers, I was reminded of the importance of family, community. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible.
