Happy Birthday AFLCIO Maritime Trades! Honored to serve the hardworking men and women working on our Great Lakes and rivers. Education, apprenticeships, and training are essential to growing our skilled workforce and ensuring a prosperous future for our Great Lakes Region.🚢
Good to be back at Liberty Aviation Museum to unveil a new statue to honor the life and legacy of Tuskegee Airman Dr. Harold Brown of Port Clinton, Ohio. Harold served during WWII as a P-51C fighter pilot, was shot down in the European Theatre and became a prisoner of war.
Families in Ohio are feeling the squeeze from rising food costs, and shrinking serving sizes. I'm taking action to crack down on corporate price gouging while standing up for hardworking Ohioans. We need an economy that works for everyone, not just the wealthy few.
🚨MAJOR NEWS🚨
In the 2 years since the #InflationReductionAct became law we have announced or advanced 646 new clean energy projects, creating 334,565 new jobs and driving $372 Billion in new investments nationwide — including 13,887 clean energy jobs in the Buckeye State. 💪⚡
If the new prices had been in effect last year, Medicare would have saved an estimated $6 Billion, or approximately 22 percent, across the 10 selected drugs. You can learn more about how this has helped save Seniors on Medicare Billions here:
After years of NO! and not one vote from GOP we gave Medicare the power to negotiate lower prescription drug prices bringing down prices of these medications:

You can read more about my efforts to protect and expand Social Security here:
Joined NW Ohio Area Office on Aging to celebrate Social Security's 89th Birthday. On this day in 1935 President Franklin Delano Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act into law. Social Security has provided our most comprehensive retirement, disability, and survivors benefits.
Joined Toledo Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Romules Durant to showcase the $11 Million reinvestment completed at the Aerospace & Natural Science Academy. This will allow students to specialize and learn skills not taught elsewhere to prepare them for future scientific careers.
Over the past year I have helped bring hundreds of Millions of dollars in investment home to Northwest Ohio and our 9th District. Working with elected officials from both parties, we’re delivering major wins for our region.
Rate payers deserve more for FirstEnergy’s corruption and malfeasance from elected officials down in Columbus. A real criminal investigation would root out the graft and corruption that took place. The worst crime in Ohio history should be treated as such.
Beautiful Sunday evening spent at the Family House Festival with the Optimist Club. Thanks to Flowers Bakery for the donated baked goods. Always good to spend time with members of our community who are giving back.
Wonderful to celebrate the Festival of India with so many from across NW Ohio. Thank you to The Hindu Temple of Toledo for the warm welcome as you mark 35 years since you first opened your doors. Cheers to the next 35 years and many more community celebrations to come—Dhanyavaad!
2 years since the #PACTAct became law I am reflecting on the hard fought efforts to champion this vital legislation alongside my constituent Susan Zeier to honor her son-in-law Heath Robinson. It has now helped over 1.1 Million American veterans and their survivors. #2YearsofPACT
NW Ohio toasts our own Erik Kynard who’s in Paris at the Olympics to finally receive the #Gold he earned in 2012. His perseverance and dedication are an inspiration to all — not just in NW Ohio, but across our country, and around the globe. #ToledoProud
The University of Toledo will receive a major award to study environmental impacts on health. This investment reinforces our commitment to advancing scientific understanding that can lead to better health outcomes for our NW Ohio community and beyond.
More than 109,000 Ohio families are seeing big savings on home energy costs thanks to the #InflationReductionAct! With more than $150 Million in clean energy tax credits, we’re lowering energy bills, boosting efficiency, and building a sustainable future for all.
It’s 2024 and mom's make 71 cents on the dollar compared to dad's, with even larger gaps for mother's of color. On this #MomsEqualPayDay, I am joining my colleagues in the Democratic Women's Caucus as we continue to fight for equal pay for moms across NW Ohio and throughout our country.
Excited for the upcoming National Night Out events across NW Ohio! Let’s celebrate partnerships that support safe neighborhoods.
Find a participating event near you at natw.org/about/#map and let’s continue to make our communities safer together.
