Jon Stewart, say it louder for the people in back! It's ridiculous that people who rely on SNAP can't use it to buy a hot meal, but they can buy the same meal frozen. My Hot Foods Act can change this. CC: @thedailyshow.com
Weekend Office Hours: 4/6 My team & I are hosting weekend office hours this Sunday, April 6, 10am-1pm, at my Northeast Queens District Office! Stop by to ask questions & receive assistance with federal agencies like the IRS, VA, Social Security, & more. Details👇
Today, House Dems & Republicans stood united as the Speaker attempted to kill a bipartisan resolution allowing Members of Congress who are new parents to vote remotely. There is no reason why we can't accommodate new parents on both sides of the aisle!
Today, my son Sam and I showed Speaker Johnson why you don't mess with moms. Thanks to overwhelming bipartisan support, we stopped the Speaker’s attempt to kill our resolution to allow new parents in Congress to vote remotely. Thank you to everyone who stood with us today.
It simply doesn't make sense that people who rely on SNAP can't use their benefits to buy a hot meal, when they CAN buy the same thing frozen. I reintroduced my bipartisan Hot Foods Act to change this outdated rule. It's only commonsense.
The VA Home Loans Program has helped veterans & military families become homeowners for 80+ years. In NYC, 2 in 3 apartment buildings are co-ops. I introduced my Fair Access to Co-ops for Veterans Act with Rep. Nicole Malliotakis to expand this VA program to include co-ops. It's commonsense!
High School Artists: Join my Congressional Art Competition!🎨 I encourage students to submit artwork for the chance to see it featured in the US Capitol for one year! Submissions must be dropped off at my office by Monday, April 14th. Questions? Call (718) 358-MENG.
Join me on Wednesday, April 9th at my IDNYC Enrollment Event! Staff will be available from 9am-5pm to assist NYC residents with applying for their IDNYC card. RSVP & location👇
Another successful VA intake day in Queens! A special thank you to all the veterans & families who joined us. Stay tuned for more upcoming dates! If you need assistance with military records, service medals, or VA benefits, please reach out to my office at (718) 358-MENG.
Great to meet with The Weather Channel's @jimcantore.bsky.social & CEO Tom O'Brien this week. Their work with @noaa.gov & @nws.noaa.gov has never been more important as communities across the nation face increasingly intense storms & temperatures throughout the year.
Honored to join Ambassador Ekaterini Nassika to celebrate Greek Independence Day!🇬🇷 My district is home to a vibrant Greek community & I'm proud to celebrate their culture & heritage each year.
Air traffic controllers & safety professionals protect our planes, passengers, pilots, & flight attendants every day. We've experienced firsthand the devastating impact that cuts to their workforce can have. We met to underscore the importance of staffing our airports. Safe skies depend on them.
ConEd's proposed double rate hike is unacceptable & I'm calling on the New York State Department of Public Service to reject it. Electricity bills are already too high. Families in Queens shouldn't have to pay more to keep the lights on.
It's not every day that you get to talk about space with Bill Nye the Science Guy! 🚀 I'm glad I had the opportunity to sit down & talk about how we can support NASA & the future of space exploration.
It's hard to believe that in 2025, women are still earning less than men for the same work. Women & families deserve better. On Equal Pay Day, my @demwomencaucus.bsky.social colleagues & I are united in our fight to close the pay gap.
