I look forward to providing an update on the 119th Congress and hearing directly from constituents about any issues that are impacting the quality of life in Northwest Indiana. www.lakeshorepublicmedia.org/local-news/2...

I want to hear your story so that I can bring the voices of Northwest Indiana constituents directly to my work in Congress. If you have been impacted by the government shutdown or the Administration’s recent actions, please use the form below:

I will continue to fight for working families, expand economic opportunity, protect access to health care, support public safety, stand with our friends in organized labor, strengthen our farms and invest in our shared future.
I am focused on getting results, not playing politics.
My record of working cooperatively to create work and wealth for Indiana families will not be deterred.
If the General Assembly moves forward with this partisan plan, I will continue to be a fighter for fairness, working with Republicans and Democrats alike to defend the voices of working families. I believe that representation should be earned through ideas and service, not political manipulation.
The only thing more unpopular in Indiana than redistricting is the Governor himself. His attempt to silence the very voters he represents is yet another example of how out of touch he is with the people of our great state.
As working families are facing skyrocketing energy costs, the loss of health care and food assistance programs, rising local taxes, and cuts to public safety, it’s unsurprising that Gov Braun has chosen to convene a special session on mid-decade redistricting at the request of President Trump.
Reminder for middle and high school students: The deadline to submit an entry to the Congressional App Challenge is next week on Thursday, October 30, 2025. Additional details below.

Honored to join stakeholders across Northwest Indiana to celebrate the official certification of the My Brother’s Keeper Alliance in Lake County. I applaud this initiative and look forward to its continued success for the youth and next generation of leaders in our region.
Grateful to be able to speak earlier this week on WLTH Radio in Gary on the current issues of the day. I will continue to do my utmost to stand with the people of Northwest Indiana and advocate for affordable healthcare and economic opportunity for everyone.
I invite residents to attend one of my ongoing Community Conversations to be held at the Lake County Government Center in Crown Point or at the Calumet College of St. Joseph in the Robertsdale neighborhood of Hammond on November 1, 2025.

Wishing everyone celebrating Diwali in Northwest Indiana and across the world a joyous festival of lights!
I’ve often talked to you about how steel is a national security issue. Well the fact of the matter is, so is farming. In Northwest Indiana and Indiana it is the heartbeat of our economy.
I’m ready, willing, and able to find a bipartisan solution to open government, make sure people get paid, and make sure people have access to healthcare.
I’m honored to nominate students from Indiana’s First Congressional District for appointment to the U.S. Military Service Academies. I encourage all interested students to apply for this invaluable opportunity to obtain a college education while serving our nation.

Let us build on this positive action and continue the momentum toward peace and security for everyone in the Middle East region.

I remain committed to working with anyone, anywhere, anytime to reopen our government, protect access to healthcare, and ensure that no hardworking American misses a paycheck.
Members of the military selflessly serve our nation, and Congress has a responsibility to ensure they receive timely pay regardless of partisan gridlock.
It is unfortunate that instead of Congress coming to a bipartisan agreement to fund all military operations and keep the federal government open, we are now scrambling at the final hour to ensure our troops do not miss a paycheck.
The federal government has been shutdown for 9 days. I’m ready to go to DC to vote for opening the government, ending the healthcare crisis, & adding certainty to our economy & our healthcare.

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
